Today's word is PUKE: Brought to you by the letter P!

I deserve a beer after the morning I've had. But since I don't drink and we don't have any beer anyway, I'm drinking J's last Mountain Dew! So there!

Who doesn't love cleaning up puke in the mornings? Especially dog puke...
Sabrina has been puking nearly every 20 minutes since 0600. At first, it was small puke, then it got to be bigger puke. I started off cleaning up two small spots on the carpet, then I had to clean 6 large spots on the CARPET. Now I'm having to wash the dog bed, a comforter and a couple of towels. Poor Bina...
I think we need to take her to the vet. And I thought J should share in my lovely morning, so I sent him a photo of her puke and then called to tell him that we should take her to the vet.
I would share that lovely photo with y'all, but I'm trying to drink this here Mt. Dew and eat my blueberry poptart without puking myself...plus, it has been almost 30 minutes since the last puking and I'm sure it's due.

I hope you lovely folks have a wonderful morning...whatever day it is.
Seriously, it feels like a Monday. Can someone check the calendar for me? I'm too tired to look.

**Update: Make that two dog beds... Vet appt. at 4:30. (I don't have a way to take her there myself. Have to wait for J to get home.)

Dr. Visit #2

Well...
Dr. Brown prescribed me a Z-pack (Azithromycin) while I was at the doctor's on Tuesday.
Yesterday, several hours after taking the first dose, I broke out in a heat flush all over my face, jaw, neck and chest and then it spread to the rest of my body. I checked my temperature several times and it was 97.4° every time, which is normal for me. But my face was on FIRE!!! So I called the after-hours answering service and they told me to call the after-hours clinic. I called and they told me to go ahead and come in.

I was bored.
When I got there, I had to check in with a nurse like normal to check BP, Temp, O2 sat, and to take my history (since I had never been to the after-hours clinic). Then just a few minutes after going into the room, the doctor came in to see what was going on. She said I was definitely having an allergic reaction to the medicine.
She ordered a nurse to give me a steroid shot in my hip; it hurt so bad! It's still sore! About 20 minutes later another nurse brought me a double-dose of Children's Benadryl and the doctor prescribed me a round of steroids instead of another antibiotic. She said since I wasn't feeling better after Tuesday, that I probably have a virus instead of a bacterial infection.
I hate sitting on the table. J gave me his chair.

So, on the way home, J stopped at Walgreen's to see if the pharmacy was still open. They weren't; it was after 9 pm. Instead, he got a new oscillating fan on a stand so I could sleep in the spare bedroom; I don't want to get him more sick. When we got home, I went straight to bed while J was putting my fan together. I slept straight through from 10-6:30. Since I got up a couple of times to go to the bathroom, I got about 8 hours of sleep! The doctor told me to keep taking the Benadryl, so hopefully I'll get some more sleep later on in the day.
He looks thrilled to be spending the another night at the Dr.

I already feel a little better after finally getting some rest. Keep praying that J doesn't get worse y'all! :)

13 July 2011

*Cough, Cough*....DIE. (Or at least lose a lung.)

I'm sure you're all wondering about the post from Wordless Wednesday. So instead of replying to everyone individually, I'll just recap Tuesday.

I woke up sounding and feeling worse than the day before and I'd only started feeling bad Sunday.

J insisted that he take me to the doctor. So, when he got home from work, we headed to the doctor he had just seen last week.

I got there and signed in and around 3 and less than 10 minutes later, we were called to the back. The nurse, who has the bedside manner of a crocodile, weighed me, took my BP and O2 sat and temperature. I really despise this nurse because she is so cold and never smiles. When she was done, I gave a urine sample and another nurse took me to have x-rays. Then I went to the patient room and the same nurse who does x-rays came to take my blood. She couldn't find a vein and poked and prodded me for several minutes before trying the vein on the top of my arm. She moved the needle around several times and said that the vein was rolling. She left the room and went to get another nurse. By then, I was feeling nauseous probably because I had only eaten a pop-tart at 12:30.

The nurse who took my BP (the one with the horrible bedside manners) came to try the other arm. She got the needle in but couldn't get any blood out and by then I was sweating profusely and feeling like throwing up more than ever. Another nurse came in then to help me lay down and she wiped my face with a cool rag. Then she checked my hands to find a vein. After trying both hands, she decided to call the doctor in to confirm that I needed an IV drip because I was overly dehydrated. The doctor came in and confirmed and the nurse, Melinda (who is super-sweet btw) put a butterfly IV in my left hand. A butterfly IV is used in infants because they have tiny veins, which I apparently have as well.
After she got the butterfly in, she left and came back with the Saline drip. She hooked me up to it and then left the room so I could rest; which was impossible since the examination table was so short and narrow. Later, she came back and injected the Saline bag with an antibiotic.

I had a headache so she came and gave me a shot in the hip when it didn't go away after an hour. Then, about 30 minutes before we left, the doctor came in and injected the IV port with a steroid shot. By the time we left, I was feeling a lot better so we went ahead to dinner for our date night. I ate half a basket of chips with dip at Mexico Lindo and then our food came. I ate the rice and some of the beans and a few bites of my chicken enchiladas before I started feeling sick again. We got our food to-go and headed to Walgreen's to pick up my Z-pack and a movie. But by the time we got home, I was feeling so awful, I couldn't watch the movie. I ended up "sleeping" on the couch since J can't afford to miss any more work from being sick. I couldn't go to sleep no matter how hard I tried, so I watched tv until about 2 am. Then I tossed and turned until 3. J got up to leave for work and woke me up at 5:45, so I got less than 3 hours. :(
I tried sleeping after he left but, I felt so awful I couldn't. Hopefully this Z-pack will help me get better ASAP.
I'm supposed to go to my Sister's house this Friday to go with her to a dr. appt to find out what the sex of the new baby will be. I don't think I'm going to make it. She surely doesn't need to get whatever I have. Especially since she can't take anything while she's pregnant and the babies don't need to get sick at all.
Left hand
Right arm stick.
Left arm stick.

Pray for me y'all. And pray J doesn't get sick again.

Six Word Saturday

Sick to my
stomach all night.

Not a great way to spend the night
before J leaves for drill this morning.
Posted on FB that I felt bad.
Immediate reaction from my sister?
As follows:
Who knows... I just wish my stomach would stop
aching. It feels like it's going to explode.
I made pasta for dinner with garlic bread.
I only ate half a piece of garlic bread because
I put too much garlic salt on it. It was just,
way too much salt. Blech!

Hopefully the rest of my day will be better.
Maybe I'll get some sleep here on the couch.

Happy 6WS from mopey-me.

Oh yeah, 6WS is hosted by Cate at Show My Face.

Wanna know a Secret?...

Yeah... me too. Just kidding! When I reach 50 followers, I plan on doing a giveaway! Not sure what though. Any ideas??

Since I missed Random Tuesday Thoughts this week. I thought I'd catch y'all up on what's been going on.

  • J and I had date-night last Friday. We went out to eat at Applebee's and nearly froze to death. They had the air on and it was barely 60° outside. (if that) And they burnt our appetizer! The swirly fry things? Whatever they're called. After we ate, we went back to the mall where we had bought our tickets earlier. We saw Sucker Punch. Not worth it!! We paid $15 just for J to fall asleep half-way through the movie. Seriously, it wasn't that great. There were several scenes that were just way too confusing and they had characters from other movies. Such as Orcs from Lord of the Rings. I swear... that's what they looked like!
  • Saturday, I dusted and vacuumed and three days later, everything was covered in dust and pollen and floor looked like I never vacuumed at all.
  • We had really great weather yesterday. It was in the mid-70's but really breezy. I sat out in the sun reading The Key to Midnight by Dean Koontz. (My favorite author, or did you forget?) Got a little crispy, so I moved into the shade,  but it was too late. The left side of my chest is burnt as are my legs and my right arm. Don't ask how that happened, I have no clue.
    • J has AT for the next two weeks. :( And then this summer, he'll be gone again for our anniversary. WLC- Warrior Leader Course... This will be the second anniversary we've been apart. *sigh* {On a lighter note, he already told me he plans on getting me the china we registered for when we first got married! SCORE! They're really expensive and oh so beautiful!!}
    • J is home from work right now and needs to go to the doctor...so I'll blog later.
    • J apparently has bronchitis and an upper-respiratory infection. Yuck! They gave him a shot in each hip and he instantly felt better when he got home from work. I'm so glad. :)
    • J's 1st SGT called him yesterday and told him that if the Bill isn't signed to pay military during this goverment shutdown, he won't be having AT the next two weeks. Unfortunately, that means a lot of military families who need the money, desperately, aren't going to get paid.
    • I finished reading The Key to Midnight and then read The Vision by Dean Koontz. Great books, not his best, but still really great reads. I'm now reading Fireproof. It's really good so far. Reads pretty much right along with the movie.
    • No Mil-Spouse Friday Fill-In today because Wifey's Father-in-law suffered a massive heart attack. :( Send some prayers their way. They're still unsure of his condition.

That's all I have right now. Sorry the posts have been so sparse. I'm trying my best to keep up with everything. I get distracted easily though. LOL.

Why do they call Spring the Season of Rebirth when everyone is practically dying?: Random Tuesday Thoughts

So, yep, it's Tuesday again. Time to get random with
Keely The Un Mom.Be sure to visit her blog and link
up to join in on the randomness.

The weather outside is beautiful, and has been
for several days now. It has been cloudy all weekend
and today, we can finally see the blue sky.
Which of course, if the weather is nice, it means
I'm stuck inside dying because I can't breathe because
I'm sick. My throat is killing me, despite the lack of
tonsils. And there's so much snot in the back
of my sinuses I feel like I might choke at any
given moment. Please excuse my bluntness, I'm
    slightly irritable.

    *****************************************

I went to the doctor yesterday to have my "lady bits"
checked out. That was a nerve-racking fun experience.
At least I had my awesome sister with me. Am I a
big baby or what? {I should find out in a week or so
why stuff is just not working right. I'm sure y'all
    just want all the details right?}

    ******************************************

After my doctor's appointment, my sister and I went
out to eat at Logan's where I had the nastiest salad
ever. I knew bacon, deviled eggs and balsamic vinaigrette
was probably not a good combination. Dessert was great
though. When we finished eating we went by Claire's just
to see what they had and I got lots of great deals! Four
bracelet sets for $1 each! One necklace for $1 and
another for $4.00. They are really pretty and very me!

    ********************************************

Did I mention it feels like spring outside and I'm
pretty sure the trees and flowers are out to get us?
Seriously, pollen should be classified as a bio-chemical
weapon. Don't read this wrong and think I hate spring,
because I don't! I love spring, I just hate getting
sick every year because my stupid sinuses don't
want to get along with the pollen spores that
are racing their way into my brain every time I
inhale. Ahhh sweet oxygen... Who needs it?

Maybe if I go hack down breathe on the plants some,
they'll quit attacking me with that yellow gunk.

    **********************************************

You did want to read about something  random,
and not just lunatic plant-killing mumbojumbo by me,
right? Then go check out The Un Mom like I told
you before! You'll love her, I swear!

I know right?: Random Tuesday Thoughts

It's Tuesday again...let's get Random with Keely at The Un-Mom.

A few days ago this conversation took place:

Scene: The Hubby is watching Mean Girls, I'm on Facebook on the laptop.

Regina George says Boo you {ho}*..

Me: Amy used to say that to me all the time. lol. Boo you {ho}*...it's funny.

    J: it's stupid.

Me: No its not, it's funny. You're the one watching Mean Girls!

J: I just think it's funny how mean they can be to each other.

Me: nuh-uh...you're in love with Lindsey Lo-{ho}*.

    J: No I'm not.

ME: Yes you are. You love her.

    J: Nuh-uh. She's just my crack hook-up.

Sometime later after the movie is over...

J: Hopefully the second one will be just as funny as the first...

(You know he's looking forward to seeing Mean Girls 3....lol)

That's just about as random as I can get this week. J has been sick and now I've got it too. We got lots of snow and ice Monday, down here in Sweet Home Alabama. So we got out and played in it Monday and I got even more sick. Therefore, the only major posts I'm doing this week (or until I feel better) are on my other blog, Capture the Moments. Feel free to check it out. :)

    Happy Tuesday everyone!

Note: {ho}* has been changed to protect the innocent. :P

    21 November 2010

    Sunday Catch-Up

I love Sundays...it's so quiet and peaceful. I love going to church and seeing the rest of the "family"... I can't wait until I'm feeling better so I can get to church. I'm sure they think I've fallen off the face of the planet. LOL. Especially since J didn't get to go to church today either.

Yesterday, his cousin Stacy's car broke down in Union, AL. She was driving behind a flatbed semi and a tire on it blew and went up under her car and busted the radiator. The truck didn't stop, but thankfully she made it to the side of the road safely and another vehicle that was behind her stopped to help. They pulled her with a rope to the closest exit...Union and left her at a gas station. Because she didn't have very much money, she had no way to tow her car back to Springville. So, Jeremy and I went to get her. (It was my first time out of the house since my surgery...but I actually did well! :)

Then today, Jeremy and Stacy went back to Union with his truck and a tow-dolly rented from U-haul. Hopefully she'll be able to get her car fixed soon. I know she needs it to get to work. Thankfully she has a co-worker that has already offered to take her to work for the next week.

That's pretty much all that's going on right now. :) I'm feeling much better today...just really tired. I can't wait for Thanksgiving! I hope I'll be able to eat some of everything. LOL.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

    Love,
    Photobucket

P.S. I forgot to tell you that on Friday morning (I think) I went to lay down in bed and I swallowed w/o drinking anything...and my throat started bleeding. I swallowed a few more times b/c I didn't know what was happening, then I ran to wake up Mom and then ran to her bathroom. I had a steady stream of blood flowing for at least 10 mins. Mom ended up calling 911! The paramedics and an ambulance came to check me out. Thankfully, the bleeding stopped on it's own. Mom called the Dr. and his nurse told her that my scab had probably fallen off and it shouldn't happen again. And so far, it hasn't.

    17 November 2010

    Tonsillectomy Update

    As you know...or should know, since I did mention it last month...I had my tonsils taken out on the 10th; one week ago. I'm doing ok. My throat still hurts some, especially when I swallow. And now my tongue looks really gross. My mom says she thinks I have Thrush from the antibiotic, but the pics online look nothing like my tongue. I won't describe it, because even when I look it, it makes me feel sick. :{

I still can't eat solid foods all that well. I had some cornbread and buttermilk last night for dinner and today my throat feels horrible, so I'm sticking to liquidy foods and drinks today. Thankfully I'm not feeling any nausea today.

Hopefully I'll be able to blog again tomorrow. Hope everyone is doing well!

    10 October 2010

    Catching Up

I know...it's been forever since I've posted. Can you blame me though? Life is so much better now that my Soldier is home!

We had a great time in Florida with Jeremy's parents...BUT, I got sick the second week we were down there. I had a horrible sore throat and just felt awful. I'm almost positive it was strep throat, but the doctor I saw didn't even swab my throat. He prescribed me a Z-pack, which took forever to make me feel better.

We came back home to Alabama on Friday, the 18th. We spent the night Friday and Saturday night and left out for Tennessee on the 19th. We got to our cabin a little after 4:30 and unpacked the car. Our cabin was so cute! (I will try to get the pics off of my phone when I get a chance.) Then we headed to Wally World for groceries.

We spent most of the week in and around Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Monday we went to the Ripley's Aquarium and bought the military package (at a 90% discount!)that included the 2 put-put courses, Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum, World Records Museum, Mirror Maze/Candy Factory, Ripley's Haunted Adventure, the Moving Theatre and of course, the Aquarium. It was a great deal! We did all of the museums and the Aquarium the first day and one of the put-puts.
Then Tuesday we finished the rest. We had a great time too! After playing the last put-put Tuesday, we went and played Hillbilly Golf! We love put-put!
We went to Ober Gatlinburg on Wednesday and Jeremy dropped his brand-new phone while we were on the Sky Lift. It fell about 20-25 feet and landed in the concrete slide. Then some guy hit it on his way down. Thankfully the attendant saw it and retrieved it for us. And amazingly, the phone is fine. It works and the only damages it endured are the scratches on the back plate!

Thursday we spent most of the day in Gatlinburg just walking around and shopping and planning our hiking trip.

We went hiking on Friday, and even though it almost killed me to hike 5 miles, the view at the top was totally worth it!

Saturday we slept in and watched tv most of the day. Then J decided he was hungry and didn't want anything that we had at the cabin, so we got dressed and left the cabin. J decided we would take a road we didn't know, so we ended up driving for over an hour until we finally ended up near the interstate. We passed the Bush's Baked Beans factory on the road we took too. LOL. It was really the only interesting thing we saw. When we got back to town, we ate and then went to watch a movie. We saw The Town...which really wasn't all it was made out to be. I recommend waiting for it to hit the redbox.

When we got back to the cabin, we packed up everything and loaded the car. Then we crashed because it was REALLY late. We got up early Sunday and finished cleaning up and packing. To check out of the cabin, all we had to do was call the office and let them know. We drove into Pigeon Forge for breakfast. It took FOREVER to find somewhere that wasn't completely packed! Apparently everyone gets up at the same time on Sundays. LOL.

After eating breakfast, we went to find a hotel room since we didn't want to drive home on Sunday and it was raining. We drove around to a few different hotels until we found the Clarion Inn. It was super-nice! It had an indoor pool and hot-tub AND an outdoor lazy-river, slide with mini-pool and another hot-tub! Plus a splash-pad. The water was really cold, but we got in the water anyway. Inside was a lot better though. We swam some, then got dressed and went out to eat. When we got back, we changed clothes and went to the MagiQuest down the street. J thought it would be dorky, but we ended up having a LOT of fun! It's kind of like being in a video game/ scavenger hunt. After our time was up there, because they were closing, we went back to the hotel and swam. When we got hungry, we ordered Papa John's and went up to the room. Our room had a jacuzzi and a fireplace. It was very cozy and relaxing!

Monday morning, we packed up and checked out. Then went down the street to the MagiQuest to finish playing the game we started the night before. We also did the laser maze, mirror maze and pirate black light golf. :) Afterwards we headed for home.

It rained most of the way home, which was awful. People forget how to drive when it rains. Thankfully, we didn't get caught in too much traffic, so we made good time getting home.

Since being home, we've just been spending time with our family and friends.

Last weekend, including Friday, we went camping. We also had the Yellow Ribbon Program meetings to attend Saturday and Sunday. I don't know why J thought it would be a good idea to go camping with his sister and brother-in-law on the same weekend we had other plans. But it all worked out ok. I was supposed to go with him on Saturday to the meetings, but when we got to his sister's house to shower, she had changed the locks and forgotten to tell us, so we couldn't get in. He had to take me back to the campsite and drop me off. I ended up showering at the camp facilities and spending the day with his sister. When he got back that afternoon, I was putting up the tent and other camping stuff. Apparently we had a room at the Winfrey for the YRP that we didn't know about. So instead of camping again Sat. night, we spent the night in a nice hotel room. (Which was fine with me, since we weren't prepared enough for the cold night outside!) Sunday, after the meetings were over, we grabbed some lunch at McD's and then watched a movie; Wall Street. It was too long and really boring. I was hoping it would be a great movie since it had Michael Douglas and Shia LeBeouf. But, it wasn't.

About half-way through Sunday, I started feeling really awful. By the time the movie was over, I was running a fever. We went home so I could change clothes and grab Tim's b'day present. I checked my temperature and it was 99.7. Then we headed over to Amanda and Tim's house. I felt even worse. So when Mom left, I left with her and came home and went to bed. I slept from 6:30pm until about 9:30am.

Monday morning I made an appt with my Dr. That afternoon we went for my appt at 2:45, sat there for 2 hours before we saw him, and we were there almost 4 1/2 hours! He tested me for strep and it came out positive. I told him I wanted a referral for an ENT. He made me an appt for Friday with an ENT.

When I got to the appt Friday, I was in and out in less than 30 mins. The Dr. told me I could have my tonsils out, but he made it sound like he was trying to talk me out of it. But no way! I'm tired of being sick, so I'm definitely getting them taken out!

My surgery will be on Nov. 10. I'm nervous, but I know that after I have my tonsils out, I won't be getting strep throat every month anymore! Woot!!!

Sorry it took me so long to catch up with what's been going on. Hopefully now I can get back into blogging regularly. I hope everyone has been doing well! Please forgive me, but it may take a few weeks to catch up on all of your blogs!

    Love, Whit

    25 August 2010

    I'm so excited....and I just can't hide it...

I'm about to lose control and I think I like it...

So sorry to have been AWOL for so long. To say I've been busy wouldn't entirely be untruthful. I stayed with my sister for awhile of course. Just to help her out with The Boog and Little Treasure. It was a lot of fun, but then....I got sick. I woke up on Thursday morning (12th August)and felt awful and had a temperature. So I called my Mom to come rescue me and take me home. Then Friday I went to the Doctor. They did a Strep culture, but it came back negative, so he said he thought I had Mono. That sounds simply horrifying to me...but seeing as it is viral and cannot be treated with antibiotics, there's no way I had Mono. By Saturday I was already feeling better, so I'm almost positive it was just a false negative on the Strep test. After that sickness was gone, I had some side effects from the medicine. But now, I'm feeling a lot better. :)

And whilst I was sickly, I didn't feel like fighting with my laptop to get online, so that is another reason for the lack of posts. I do apologize and hopefully soon I'll get back in the swing of things. :)

Today...I got to wash ACUs!!! First time in over a year!!!!!!!!!! I was pretty excited about dirty laundry. I know I'm weird...most people love me anyway. The Hubby mailed them to me a few weeks ago, but since I was sick, I hadn't had time to unpack them and wash them. Now that's all done though and I can look forward to bigger and better things. lol. This deployment should be over soon. Keep on praying.
