RTT: Nesting and Breaking up our Family

So last week, I got a nesting itch and had to have Jeremy help me rearrange the bedroom. We moved the bed from one wall to the other and then moved everything else around the room to accommodate the bed's new position. I liked it pretty well except for the fact that our bedroom will soon become the baby's room since we aren't moving.

We looked at houses for rent in our area, but our apartment complex requires two months prior notice before moving out. I think it's ridiculous...it's not as if they can show/rent the property while we're living here. They also require a fee of one month's rent to break the lease. We don't want to pay that and we don't have anywhere to move, thanks to the sequestration. *grumble grumble* So it looks like we're going to have to make our small two-bedroom apartment work for now. Which means we will have to get rid of Tobias. :( I love my Toby. I mean, look at this sweet pic of him when he was a baby:
 And this one:

He is the most loving cat that I've ever known. He calls me "mama" and begs to be picked up when I let him out of his room in the mornings. He has calmed down a lot now that he is almost two. It's just, we live in a two bedroom apartment! There is nowhere to put his litter boxes and I can't have him climbing into the crib with the baby. Since the baby will have his/her own room, Toby won't have his own room anymore and he really needs to be put up at night since he is a cat after all...mischievous and curious.

I had the nesting itch again last night and I had Jeremy help (read: Jeremy did all the hard work) me move our bedroom to Toby's room (which is the apartment's master bedroom b/c it has a bathroom). We moved everything from that closet to the storage closet and then the baby clothes/gear went into our old closet. Our old bedroom is still a disaster, but the master bedroom is in working order and I cleaned the tub out today (Toby's litter boxes were in that bathroom).

Now Toby's litter boxes are in the guest bath, which means the entire hallway stinks because J hasn't cleaned them out in awhile. We can't put Toby in that bathroom at night because it's just too small and he begs to be out. We can't leave him out in the "general population," as J calls the apartment as a whole, because he gets into stuff.

It just breaks my heart...
I don't want to have to find my little furry buddy a new home...I loves him.

RTT: Not enough time!

I haven't had a good rant in quite awhile, so I thought I'd step up on the soap-box and complain a little.
We can call this the Random Tuesday Thoughts that I didn't have until Wednesday...

  • I should be working on my History Midterm that is due Friday, but I don't feel like writing a 3-5 page essay today. I worked 8-9 hours straight yesterday on four short essays for my history midterm. WTH? Why does this professor assign so much work? I've been asking that from day one.
  • Not only do I have a history midterm due Friday, I have a math (in-class) midterm tomorrow at 6. Which means I only have today and tomorrow to study for the exam. Also, I have to drive two hours to my sister's house to study with her and then we have to drive at least 45 minutes to the campus. Furthermore, we have never been to the GSB at the Shelby Campus, so we have no idea where we'll be taking the exam. Hopefully our professor is just as nice as our professor from last semester. *fingers crossed*
  • I turned in an essay for English that was due the 7th a few days early. That was nerve-racking trying to get it done before the weekend so we could go to Talladega (we did go!).
  • Thankfully, my English teacher doesn't have anything assigned until the end of the month. I am so grateful for that.
  • My psychology professor obviously thinks that we don't have enough work to do, so he has assigned discussions now. He thinks we don't have enough interactions. It was fine with me! I didn't want to have to interact with another class. Isn't two interactions with two other classes enough?
  • Want to know what the next couple of weeks consists of for me? I'm gonna tell you anyway!
  • Tomorrow is the math midterm @ 6pm.
  • History midterm is due Friday @ 11:59 pm.
  • Jeremy has drill this weekend, so I will at least have all of my attention on schoolwork.
  • Chapter 8 Quiz in History opens up on Sunday, which means I have to have my study guide completed before Monday, so I can take the quiz on Tuesday; it's due at 11:59 pm on Tuesday.
  • I have another Psychology paper due on the 17th (just turned in the last one on the 4th).
  • Discussion Week 9 opens in History and is due on Friday the 19th.
  • Chapter 9 Quiz in History opens on the 21st, which means another study guide to complete.
  • Also, all next week, I have to work on Assignment 4 in Math which is due by 5pm on the 23rd for the extra bonus points.
  • Chapter 9 Quiz in History is due @ 23:59 on the 23rd.
  • Psychology Exam on Chapters 3 and 5 opens on my birthday, the 24th and closes on the 25th.
  • Discussion Week 10 opens on the 24th in History.
  • I have to respond to the discussion forum in English by 11:55 pm on the 24th.
Ridiculous, huh? It's never-ending! I never feel like I have enough time. When am I supposed to have fun?? Tell me that?! UGH!
*Stepping off of soap-box now*
I hope everyone had a great weekend and I hope everyone is enjoying this nice weather we've been having lately! It's awesome!
Be sure to link up with Stacy at Stacy Uncorked for Random Tuesday Thoughts. I didn't have a chance yesterday, so I'm just now doing it. Oh well! Not enough time in the day!

20 September 2012

Today's word is PUKE: Brought to you by the letter P!

I deserve a beer after the morning I've had. But since I don't drink and we don't have any beer anyway, I'm drinking J's last Mountain Dew! So there!

Who doesn't love cleaning up puke in the mornings? Especially dog puke...
Sabrina has been puking nearly every 20 minutes since 0600. At first, it was small puke, then it got to be bigger puke. I started off cleaning up two small spots on the carpet, then I had to clean 6 large spots on the CARPET. Now I'm having to wash the dog bed, a comforter and a couple of towels. Poor Bina...
I think we need to take her to the vet. And I thought J should share in my lovely morning, so I sent him a photo of her puke and then called to tell him that we should take her to the vet.
I would share that lovely photo with y'all, but I'm trying to drink this here Mt. Dew and eat my blueberry poptart without puking myself...plus, it has been almost 30 minutes since the last puking and I'm sure it's due.

I hope you lovely folks have a wonderful morning...whatever day it is.
Seriously, it feels like a Monday. Can someone check the calendar for me? I'm too tired to look.

**Update: Make that two dog beds... Vet appt. at 4:30. (I don't have a way to take her there myself. Have to wait for J to get home.)

You didn't eat your Wheaties, did you?

Finally went to get my books yesterday at the campus bookstore. The little chick running the cash register was rude to me! I asked if I could post-date a check until I received my financial aid check and she acting like she didn't even know what a post-dated check was. Then she asked if I was on "the list." First of all, I don't even know what "the list" is and how can I know if I'm on it if it's not posted where I can check it. She said, "I need something with your name on it." Um...an ID? Driver's License? Student ID? A piece of mail? I can write it on a post-it for you.. I hand her my Driver's License and she takes it to the backroom to compare to "the list." Apparently I'm awesome enough to be on this "list" and she hands me a form to fill out. As I'm filling it out, I ask her if I need to return in person to pay or will they just cash my check on the 31st if I don't show up. She said I had to return in person or they would cash my personal check... UM, duh; that's what I just asked! I told her that I planned to deposit my financial aid in my personal checking account anyway, so it will come directly from my account. She didn't say anything so I just ignored her while I finished filling out the form. I also asked if it was ok if my checks had my husband's name on it and she had to ask her manager. Her manager said that as long as it had the name of the recipient of the financial aid on it, then it would work. The chick said, "But it has someone else's name too." Good grief girl, are you related to the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz? Idiot. So I just filled out my check and dated it for the 31st. We'll see what happens.

  • World of Psychology & Study Guide {Psychology 200}- $175.20
  • Visions of America Binder 201 & 202 {US History 201}- 87.84
After the bookstore, I headed over to the Financial Aid office to make sure my check had been mailed; it had. Then Mom, Amanda and I walked over to the BDH building for our History 201 Orientation. Online, it said it was in BDH 216, so we waited in there for over 45 minutes until there were at least 10 other people in there, then some lady came to tell us that she was sorry, but the classroom had been moved to 210 and she was late putting up the sign.
There was already a sign in the front of the room saying that Wednesday's orientation had been moved to 210, so I had already walked down there to that classroom to ask if it had been moved for Thursday's orientation as well. The lady in there asked who I was looking for. I told her "David McRae" and she said "Well, I'm not David McRae. What time is it supposed to start?" I told her "12:30." She said, "Well, come back at 12:30, I won't be here." She was really rude. I didn't eat breakfast yesterday and didn't sleep so well on the crappy bed at Mom's, so I really felt like slapping that lady. Why do people have to be so rude?
I wanted to ask her why she didn't eat her Wheaties for breakfast...

Gone Again?

It seems every time we get used to being together, the Army is going to make sure we remember what it's like to be apart. J has drill this weekend, then he leaves for Savannah on the 12th and will be gone until the 29th. Then, he leaves somewhere around March 27 for school in Pennsylvania until the second week of May. Can we not get a break here?  Seriously...let's just go ahead and make sure he's gone for our 4th anniversary, too. Especially since he has been gone for our last two anniversaries. Might as well make it a habit.
*stepping off soap-box now*
I hope everyone is surviving winter! We certainly are. We haven't had any snow and our temperatures range in the low 40's to the upper 70's. Feels like spring if you ask me! We even had tornadoes a few weeks ago. They really messed up several parts of Alabama.

Jeremy and I decided, since we won't be together for  Valentine's Day this year (again), we would celebrate before then. So, last weekend (since he had drill this weekend and leaves next weekend) we went to Maggie Valley, NC!

We spent Friday night in Maggie Valley. When we woke up, Saturday, we went up to the ski area to see what it was all about. It was really cool to see snow, where there really wasn't any anywhere else in Maggie Valley. It was wicked expensive to ski, though. Plus, we didn't have any cold weather gear, like ski pants. We drove over the mountain into Cherokee and then  through the park over into Gatlinburg. We spent all day there. It was a lot of fun! We bought tickets at the Ripley's Believe it or Not! Aquarium for only $4.99! They have incredible rates for military! {Just show your ID!} We then walked all over the place just looking at everything. We stopped in several places, but didn't buy anything since we really wanted to eat first. We ended up eating at T.G.I.Friday's since we don't have that restaurant in Anniston. It was so yummy! We had fried green beans and pot stickers for appetizers and I  had Bruschetta Chicken Pasta and Jeremy had a burger.  {I think} I have a hard time remembering what he ate. I was so hungry, I wasn't really paying  attention to him. Haha! After eating, we went walking and rode the Ripley's Moving Theater ride. It was really cool. I've done it several times before, but Jeremy had never done it. Then, we rode Earthquake The Ride! Don't do it! It was the lamest ride I have ever been on. Waste of money and time.

We had a sign made at The Sign Company of Gatlinburg.
Then, we went to the aquarium. I LOVE the aquarium!  I didn't take my camera in, so all of the pics are still stuck on my phone for the time being, but I will post a few of them later when I get a chance to free them! LOL.

After the Aquarium, we walked around some more and picked up our sign. {It took an hour to make.} We stopped for awhile near the middle of the town, trying to figure out if we wanted to play put-put. {It's our favorite thing to do on vacation!} But, the prices were too high and it was pretty windy and chilly. So, I stayed behind while Jeremy walked back to the parking deck behind
the aquarium. I waited about 20 minutes before he came to get me and while I was waiting, a couple got engaged right beside me! It was really cool to see. When he got down on his knee, a crowd started forming behind the couple, in front of me. Everyone clapped when she said yes. It was so sweet! :)

After J picked me up, {I was nearly frozen!}, we went back to Maggie Valley to find somewhere to eat dinner. We wanted to eat at Butts on the Creek {we ate there for our first anniversary and it was amazing!}, but when I called the number listed for them, it was out of service. We drove by there and it was completely pitch-black. The only place open, looked like a locals-only kind
of place. So, we drove over to Waynesville and ate at Nick & Nate's. Jeremy had pizza and I had a Turkey Club. It was really good. Afterwards, we went by the tubing place in Maggie Valley to find out times and pricing. They only do runs every two hours, and they were just starting one, so we would have to come back later or on Sunday. It was $20 each! I told J that we might come back Sunday while the sun was out. We ended up not going. I told him I would rather do something on the way home than freeze to death and have to change clothes in a gas station bathroom since we had to check out of our hotel room by 11. So, we slept in late
and checked out around 10:30. We got on the road and stopped in Sylva for breakfast at Bojangles. It was really good. We bought 2 biscuits each and ate only one, so we ate the second one for lunch and didn't have to stop again. When we got to Atlanta, J wanted to stop and watch a movie. We stopped at Atlantic Station, walked around and watched a movie. {Underworld 4...or whatever it was.} Then, we finally headed home. I was so tired! And I wasn't even driving.

All in all, we had a great time. :) It's going to be awhile until we have a chance to go anywhere together, so I'm glad we had the money to take this opportunity. Now, we have to start packing to move. Ugh. I really love our apartment, but hate how far away it
is from anything. Especially how far it is away from my doctor. We're going to start trying to get pregnant in June. Since I don't ovulate, I have to take a pill to help. Hopefully, it will work. Wish us luck!

Take the Money and Run (Far, Far, Away)

J likes the show, Take the Money and Run. I've watched it with him and I think it's a joke. On the first episode, the male participant, Raul Bustamante is actually Adrian Bustamante, an actor!!!
Mmk...maybe they couldn't find any real contestants in time to do the episode. Or maybe they're all fake. I didn't pay close attention to the next 3 episodes, but when J watched episode 5, he pointed out that the "father" looked like Bones' dad. (Bones being the hit-show on Fox starring Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz). So, I looked up the episode and came across another blogger's comparison. We weren't the only ones to notice the similarities between "Rick Lechleitner" and Ryan O'Neil. See for yourself:
"Rick" on the left, Ryan O'Neil on the right.

The daughter, Trisha Reardon even resembles Tatum O'Neil a little. (You'll have to look up photos for yourself though, I couldn't find any of Trisha.)

After researching a little, J has decided not to watch the show anymore since it is obviously fake. (This show is great example of how lame reality tv is. And that is why I don't watch "reality" tv.)

What are your opinions?? Do you watch the show? Did you notice that it feels a little rehearsed?

RTT: Harry Potter must not go back to Hogwarts!

 Ahh Random Tuesdays.
Keely officially hates us, so this random rebellion continues. Be sure to link up at the bottom of this post or with Stacy Uncorked.

  • Can you believe that on the 15th, the Harry Potter/ Voldemort battle will come to an end!?!? I think I'm going to cry...
  • J said we can't have an HP marathon since we just had one before the first half of the Deathly Hallows came out. Booooo, you suck!
  • Did you know that Harry Potter {Jr.} existed in Troll before the Harry Potter of the Wizarding world came to be? LOL
  • Mine and J's 3rd anniversary was Wednesday.
  • Do any of you know where I can find free blogger templates? I can't find a good site other than LeeLou's. And I can't afford to pay for a custom-made one.
  • Last Tuesday (27th of June), after searching for over 2 hours to find the Facebook Profile of the girl who took our wedding photos, I finally found her here. I contacted her when J was deployed last year and she didn't reply to me. She took our wedding pictures and she sent us 7 of them about a month after the wedding. Then, I didn't hear anything from her for months and months. I had to contact her. She said she was working on a book for us or something. Then I didn't hear anything for over half a year until I messaged her again. She said she had sent us a DVD of the pics, but it must have gotten lost in the mail. I took her word for it, but we never got the pictures and I haven't heard from her since. But not from a lack of trying.
  • Amanda messaged her today and this is what she replied with: "Sweetie I wish I could say I still had them. My place was robbed sometime ago. I lost prety much anything that had value... Including my laptops, external hard drives that had years of pictures on them. I'm so so sorry. "
  • She could have just told me that when I asked her for them. She probably just deleted them. It seems that everytime I asked her for them, she had a different excuse.
  • I'm stepping off of my soap-box now...
  • J said that we will have some new pics taken of us soon. I can't wait! ♥
  • As you may or may not have noticed, I completely missed posting my RTT last week. After such a long and eventful Independence Day weekend, I didn't much feel like posting on Tuesday or the rest of the week.
  • I will be posting my giveaway sometime later this week, hopefully. I took J to the doctor Thursday and he was diagnosed via x-rays with a sinus infection. WTH? That's almost completely impossible seeing as now I am sick too. I don't think we'll be going back to that doctor again.
  • For some reason, my Independence Day post didn't post as scheduled. I finally got it posted though, so check it out if you're interested. :)
  • I'm glad the 4th of July is behind us, I was getting tired of our neighbors shooting fireworks off at 11 at night for almost two weeks...
  • Three times so far this month, I have forgotten that I washed a load of clothes and left them overnight in the washer. The next day, I wash them again because they already smell putrid. What is wrong with me??
  • J and I played 007 on the Wii together Friday. It was fun, but I didn't like the split-screen.
  • I tried to beat J at Monopoly last week, but I failed miserably. I think I owed him something like $9 million. I tried to offer him favors, but he wanted the money. I ended up just quiting after knocking all of the houses and hotels off of the board...
  • The fair was in town for Independence Day:

  • Amanda and the babies stayed with us last Monday night (the 4th). Amanda was supposed to take Tim to the bus station in Birmingham to go to Georgia for his new job. When they got down there, they told him that only his first bag would be free, the next bag would be $25, then $50 and so on. They told him his pillow would count as one bag, his sleeping bag as one bag and even his small lunch bag would count. So, instead of paying over $125 for his luggage, they decided to drive to ATL. Amanda called and asked if we would mind watching the babies while she took Tim. I said yes and a few hours later, she dropped the babies off. Right before they got here, it started pouring down rain. Then again, after they left, it got bad. So bad, that the power went off. Grrrreat! Two babies, and no power. We managed somehow. I had everyone asleep by 10 and Amanda got in close to midnight, so she just stayed with us. Here's a pic of the babies playing "poker":

  • We've been getting so much rain here lately, that I haven't been in the pool very much this month. I'm never going to get my tan evened out. lol.
  • Is it mean that I don't want the apartment above us to be rented out?? I've gotten too used to the quiet, I don't think I could get used to people stomping over our heads again.
  • We really need more seating in the living room. I'm thinking of getting a love seat or a big fluffy chair...
  • Bina looking so forlorn...
  • My sweet Hubby. Even when he's sick, he still looks so handsome. :)
  • When we went to the grocery store Saturday, J had just gotten in the car and we were backing out. I told him to wait because a woman was walking behind the car. We waited, for her to walk from the cart-return to a vehicle on the other side of our car that had already backed out of it's parking space. Then, they went past us and cut across the parking lot, whereas, we went up the aisle and turned right. J said, and I quote: "Stupid people are funny to watch on tv, but in real life, they're just annoying." {FYI, we've been watching World's Dumbest and that's why he said that.}
  • J's medicine says to not be in the sun, so we can't swim during the day. :( Plus he sounds like he's hacking up a lung when he puts his chest underwater...
I think that's enough random. Besides...I have to go play Gardens of Time...
If you think you can handle the random, link up here or over with Stacy. :)

    Dear Punxsutawney Phil:

OK groundhog, where is this warmer weather you predicted?
Because currently, here in Alabama, it is snowing.
(Not that I'm complaining; I was just expecting
    warmer weather--sooner.)

I think you lied Punxsutawney Phil; I think
you're just a little groundhog that doesn't know
    what he is talking about.

    YOU ARE FIRED!
I will now refer to James Spann for
    all my winter weather advisories...

Yes Phil, this is how it's going to be...
    Good-bye Phil,
ONE of your faithful followers haters!

**Note: I don't actually hate Punxsutawney Phil or snow.
I just wanted it to be spring... and this was a
good opportunity to profess my love for James Spann. ;)

    Six Word Saturday

I gotta change my zodiac sign?

According to MSNBC, if you're checking out your horoscope,
you might want to recheck the dates. You could be looking at
    someone else's horoscope!

"Astrological signs are determined by the position of the sun relative to certain constellations on a person's day of birth. The problem is, the positions were determined more than 2,000 years ago. Nowadays, the stars have shifted in the night sky so much that horoscope signs are nearly a month off."

I don't wanna be a Virgo. *pouty face*
If you read about Virgo, it doesn't describe my
personality at all. I'm definitely a Scorpio
Apparently because the earth's axis has shifted, so
has our view of the stars. Therefore, our astrological signs
change too. It's really a bunch of mumbo jumbo, I'm sure.
    At least I hope I'm sure...*sigh*.

Is everything in your life going the way it should? Can you describe it in six words? Then head on over to visit Cate at

Be sure to link up and follow others back each Saturday!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

"Honey, can you take off your underwear for me?":Random Tuesday Thoughts

I can't believe it's already Tuesday again...but it is! I've been busy...just got back from PCB Sunday around 2100 and thankfully had a restful Monday. Pretty much all I did was laundry...and speaking of laundry...
    randomtuesday

Why is it when you're trying to wash EVERYTHING that is dirty,
your husband (or children, if you have them) is
    always wearing something that needs
to be washed. For example: When I did laundry Monday,
I took all the colored clothes and separated
them into dark colors and light colors.
I even went so far as to take off my undies
to add to the first load of light clothes.
Then, since it was time for a shower anyway,
I added my dark dress to the dark clothes for
the next load and my white camisole to the whites.
Then I took a shower which meant everything I put
on afterwards was clean... and the only thing that
remained dirty when I was done with laundry was
what J was wearing. How annoying...I wanted
ALL of our dirty clothes to be cleaned
at the same time. Now I'm going to have
two white socks, a pair of white boxer shorts
and a dark tank-top and light shorts...
Which means they'll remain dirty until we've
accumulated enough whites, light colors, and dark
    colors for three loads...*sigh*.
I DO LOVE having his laundry to wash again though. LOL.
Sorry if this is not random enough, I haven't had
time to think much about blogging. :)
Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

    Plans gone awry: Update

Note: All posts this week are scheduled due to the mass load of laundry and tasks I have yet to finish...

Tuesday was a busy, busy day. I had so many errands to run, I never thought I'd finish. As I posted last Friday, my car had to be taken to the shop to find out why exactly, Wally World couldn't do my oil change.

So this morning, bright and early, Mom followed me down to drop my car off. I went in, told the guy my supposed problem and left him the key. Took all of 3 minutes.

We left there and headed to The Pinnacle. I had to pick up an order that the Hubby placed for me. I got there and tried on the intimate apparel and they were...not what I consider...me. So, I tried on LOTS of different items and finally settled on a few of them. After we left that store, Mom and went to Claire's and I got some accessories to wear with my outfit for tomorrow.

Then we had to go to Mom's eye-doctor appointment. They checked the pressure in her eyes and it was still high, so they wanted to run some more tests. Unfortunately, we had already set up a lunch date with Suzette (a fellow army wife) for 1:15 so they had to cancel the tests and set up a new appointment for Mom.

Of course, after we left there, we met up with Suzette and had an awesome lunch at Chick-fil-A. It was so yummy! We talked for over an hour. I'm surprised we even finished eating!

Then we went over to the shopping center and I got my hair cut and eyebrows waxed. Lemme tell you...that was PAINFUL! But completely necessary! HA!

And, because no outfit is complete without the perfect pair of shoes, we went to Kohl's. I found the cutest Mudd shoes! They were only $9.99! I saved $40! What do you think?

After we finally left there, I called to check on my car since no one had called me yet. The guy who answered was surprised when I told him that no one had called. He then told me that there was absolutely no problem with my oil pan or the plug. There was no reason Wally World should have declined to change my oil. All it needed was a proper mechanic apparently. He did replace the gasket while he was at it.

Lesson learned: Don't go to Wally World to have your oil changed.

We had a great day, but it was VERY exhausting. So glad I got all that accomplished though. :)

Hope everyone is having a great Thursday!

RTT: I often think about reading the dictionary...

    just for fun.
Random right? That's because it's Random Tuesday Thoughts! Hosted by Keely at The Un-Mom, RTT is a way for you to dump out whatever you're thinking and call it a post!

So here are my Random Thoughts:

I get on Facebook, that's most likely the problem, and I'm reading other people's updates or comments and all I see are the mistakes. Am I OCD? But seriously, how do you not know the difference between your and you're? I understand typos...and I'm usually okay with a second comment where you fix your spelling error...

I know, I know...it makes me seem stuck-up. I promise I'm not. My Mom has always drilled into my brain the differences between words and the fact that spelling well is always beneficial in life. Therefore, I can't help it and I'm blaming it on her. I don't think less of people because they must have just missed learning that in like...second grade? I just want to reach out and help them.

I'm not the only one either. There's even a facebook page dedicated to it. Look here.

Unfortunately, only 34 people, so far, have "liked" it. I suppose there are more people that don't know the difference than there are those of us who do....oh well.

I think my teachers would be proud though...just saying. =)

That's all I have for this week's Random Tuesday Thoughts. Head on over to The Un-Mom, see what Keely has done to the page and read everyone else's random thoughts. Don't forget to link up and write your own random thoughts!

*Editor's Note: Sorry if this offends anyone. I didn't intend for it to be mean. :)
