1.Have you and your spouse agreed to live in separate locations (a geographical bachelor tour) knowing that the short-term inconvenience would have long-term benefits for your family? How did it work for you? submitted by When Good People Get Together No. He's National Guard, so I don't have to worry about us moving. And wherever he goes, I go. Even when he went to AIT for 4 months, I went with him. :)
2. What is your favorite thing about being a MilSpouse? submitted by Sarah Ruth Today I don't know.
3. If you could still have your spouse/significant other and your family, but take the military life out of it...would you? submitted by Trust. Love. Believe. Bake. No. J loves what he does and we love being a military family. There's no point in changing what works for us.
4. What have your homecoming experiences been like after a year long tour of separation? submitted by Army Soldier, Army Wife Nerve-racking...seriously, I almost puked. I was so nervous to see J after not seeing him for almost 8 months. And then after all the anticipation of seeing him, I finally had him in my arms. It was the most awesome feeling. I really felt complete again.
5. If you have a child(ren) why you chose their name(s)? If not, why you would name your child something? submitted by Tiara's & ACU's Um... I don't really understand the question. But I don't have children. So...
J and I met in 2007 and started dating in October. On Mar 12, 2008 we were engaged (the day before he left for AIT for the Army) I followed him to VA and we were married in a park by an Army Chaplain. A high school friend of J's who happened to be in the area took photos for us. She sent us 7 of the photos and despite numerous attempts to contact her for the rest, she ignores us. After returning to AL, we got an apt and started our lives together. Then, in Sept 2009, J deployed to Afghanistan. He returned in Sept 2010. For our 2nd anniversary, J was deployed and it looks as if the Army will have him again for our 3rd anniversary this summer. We would love to win the Disney Fairy Tale Wedding so we can renew our vows and have more than 7 photos of our special day. Despite being apart for a year of deployment, our love is stronger than ever! With or without a fairy tale wedding, our life together is a dream come true. I've found my Prince Charming! And he wears Combat Boots!
Yeah... me too. Just kidding! When I reach 50 followers, I plan on doing a giveaway! Not sure what though. Any ideas??
Since I missed Random Tuesday Thoughts this week. I thought I'd catch y'all up on what's been going on.
J and I had date-night last Friday. We went out to eat at Applebee's and nearly froze to death. They had the air on and it was barely 60° outside. (if that) And they burnt our appetizer! The swirly fry things? Whatever they're called. After we ate, we went back to the mall where we had bought our tickets earlier. We saw Sucker Punch. Not worth it!! We paid $15 just for J to fall asleep half-way through the movie. Seriously, it wasn't that great. There were several scenes that were just way too confusing and they had characters from other movies. Such as Orcs from Lord of the Rings. I swear... that's what they looked like!
Saturday, I dusted and vacuumed and three days later, everything was covered in dust and pollen and floor looked like I never vacuumed at all.
We had really great weather yesterday. It was in the mid-70's but really breezy. I sat out in the sun reading The Key to Midnight by Dean Koontz. (My favorite author, or did you forget?) Got a little crispy, so I moved into the shade, but it was too late. The left side of my chest is burnt as are my legs and my right arm. Don't ask how that happened, I have no clue.
J has AT for the next two weeks. :( And then this summer, he'll be gone again for our anniversary. WLC- Warrior Leader Course... This will be the second anniversary we've been apart. *sigh* {On a lighter note, he already told me he plans on getting me the china we registered for when we first got married! SCORE! They're really expensive and oh so beautiful!!}
J is home from work right now and needs to go to the doctor...so I'll blog later.
J apparently has bronchitis and an upper-respiratory infection. Yuck! They gave him a shot in each hip and he instantly felt better when he got home from work. I'm so glad. :)
J's 1st SGT called him yesterday and told him that if the Bill isn't signed to pay military during this goverment shutdown, he won't be having AT the next two weeks. Unfortunately, that means a lot of military families who need the money, desperately, aren't going to get paid.
I finished reading The Key to Midnight and then read The Vision by Dean Koontz. Great books, not his best, but still really great reads. I'm now reading Fireproof. It's really good so far. Reads pretty much right along with the movie.
No Mil-Spouse Friday Fill-In today because Wifey's Father-in-law suffered a massive heart attack. :( Send some prayers their way. They're still unsure of his condition.
That's all I have right now. Sorry the posts have been so sparse. I'm trying my best to keep up with everything. I get distracted easily though. LOL.
Oh *sigh*...it's Friday already? I guess it is. Who am I kidding? I'm really excited it's Friday!! I have a date tonight with my lover. {Of course I mean my sweet Hubby!} I just hope the weather is nice. Anywho... I should probably be cleaning something, so lemme answer these questions real quick like...
1.What romance movie scene reminds you of your s/o or spouse and the LOVE you share? submitted by Simply Sunshine and Daisy's Some kind of wonderful. Most definitely. The main character, Watts (Mary Stuart Masterson) helps to set up her best friend, Keith (Eric Stoltz) with the girl of his dreams. He then realizes he's not in love with her, he loves Watts. The whole movie is really our story. LOL. I was dating someone when I first met J and my best friend, Amy, was single, so I introduced them and they exchanged numbers. A few weeks later they dated for about a week and when Amy broke up with J for someone else, J and I started dating. And we've been together ever since. :) I didn't get any diamond earrings though...
2.If you were allowed to deploy with your husband to a war zone would you and why? submitted by I & J Heck yes! I seriously would have gone with J when he was in Afghanistan last year, but of course that wasn't possible. I hate being apart from him, even for drill weekends, so of course I would go!
3. Have you ever done anything (intentionally, or unintentionally) to embarrass your spouse/significant other in front of his military cohorts? submitted by Marrying the Navy
Yes, unintentionally, of course. I posted a video (with sound only) on Facebook, of J snoring last month and he had drill that morning. The guys teased him about his snoring. Of course, he knows first hand that most of them snore too.
4. What is your most irrational fear? submitted by Eights on the Move I still cover my ear when I sleep. It's an old habit I've had since I was really little. And I don't sleep with closet doors open. I also stuff lots of stuff under the bed so nothing can live there. I'm not so sure it's all that irrational... lol.
5. If you could only live in one kind of climate for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? submitted by Many Waters
Interesting, I don't know. I like living in the South, but if I could choose... I'd probably choose somewhere that is mildly temperate all year round; somewher between 65°-80°F.
