RTT: You had me at Pinterest

Tuesday. Yay!
Stacy is still the Random Queen until Keely decides to take the throne again. I miss her. :( But Stacy is a pretty awesome ruler, if you ask me! Check out her blog, Stacy Uncorked. Leave her a comment and link up to RTT. Go forth and be random!

  • Lately, it's gotten to where I don't want to do anything but play Farmville. I need to ween myself off of it some. I haven't played it in over a year and they have all kinds of new stuff going on!
  • Yesterday, I spent 2 hours decorating the house for Halloween! :) I'll have to post some pictures later this week. I didn't feel like busting out the camera. {That's weird, right?}
  • I just gave Tobias a bath. He's pretty mad at me, which is just what I wanted. He was driving me INSANE! He always wants to lay right under my face and I can't see the laptop/tv/book that I'm working on/ watching/ reading. So, I gave him a bath, so he can spend the next hour "drying" himself. LOL.
  • J and I watched Hellraiser last night. Really creepy. I hate the chompy guy. His name is Chatterer. I'll put a picture on here so y'all can be as sufficiently creeped out as I am:

  • Are y'all ready for Halloween? We are. We've been watching scary movies to get ourselves ready. We watched Scream 1-4, Jason X, Trick r Treat {which had no plot, what-so-ever and really annoyed us.}, Halloweentown, Hellraiser, Coraline. Actually, I watched Coraline by myself last night. J fell asleep at 7:15. I kept trying to make him go to bed, but he wouldn't. So, he slept on the couch during the whole movie. *sigh*
  • I have an addiction to Pinterest and it would appear that half of Facebook does too. LOL. I even got stuck pinning last night around one am! {from my phone, no less.}
  • Speaking of Pinterest, I saw this while I was stumbling:
  • We bought the supplies yesterday. FYI, Hobby Lobby is having a great sale on their jewelry supplies. I got the string for less than two bucks! The straight pins I bought at Wally World for around $2.67. This is gonna look so cool! :)
  • I just got stuck pinning for 30 minutes while looking for the above pin. *sigh*. Pinterest will suck you in, man!
  • And just now I got stuck stumbling. This is a cool site, check THIS out! You draw your own stickman and then it comes alive! And offers you tea and cookies. Not really, but it does become animated and you can interact with it. :P
  • Well, Tobias loves me again and is currently blocking the laptop, so I'll let the randomness end here.
Hope everyone is having a great week. Happy RTT!

RTT: Is summer over yet? How 'bout now?

I think Tuesday is my favorite day of the week. Even though Keely is still hiatus-ing, being random never gets old. Thanks Stacy for stepping in to be our surrogate fearless leader. You are greatly appreciated! If you're going to participate in RTT, be sure to link up with Stacy and check out at least one other blogger's RTT!

  • When I read a book, I keep a pencil close at-hand to underline misspelled words. How can the most simple of words get by an editor??
  • I just noticed that through our bank, we are on a rewards program that earns us points for using our debit cards. Apparently we can buy stuff with our points. And the irony in the fact that I notice these reward points the day after I delete the email from the bank, which stated that the reward program was ending in October, is not lost on me. I didn't think we were on the program until I checked the balance online today. Go figure...
  • Sometimes I convince myself that if I don't attend an event, it was like it didn't happen. I.E, if I didn't go to Boog's third birthday party, it wouldn't have happened. He would still be 2 forever. I shouldn't have gone....*sigh* I can't believe he's 3.
  • I went with Amanda to her ultra-sound appt Wednesday. It was scheduled for 3:40, but I thought it was at 2:30. I didn't intend on being gone ALL day. When we got there, they acted like they didn't even know she was supposed to be there. They told her that the appt was for Thursday. Whaaaaaat? They didn't want to work her in, but reluctantly, they did. We were there over 2 hours.
  • It was really cool getting to "see" the new baby for the first time. They were just making sure everything was going well (and it is going well) since this was an unplanned pregnancy. Read about why, here.
  • I hated driving home afterwards though. It was dark and I am nearly blind, so it took forever to get home.
  • I am so excited about Fall! I can't wait to drag out all my orange, red and yellow decorations and mix them in with all my green. Fall is my favorite time of the year and this will be the first time to decorate our new home. Here is what our living room looks like now (viewpoint from my couch.):

<<< To the left is the hallway
and to the right is the entrance into the kitchen. I love my books, but that bookcase is only 3 years old and already falling apart. Small knick-knack shelf is from a thrift store (I painted it sage-green), painting is from TJ Maxx and the sign is from Hobby Lobby! ♥

>>> Bookshelf again and the entryway to the kitchen. The sign to the right of the bookshelf, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" is from Hobby Lobby. I hung the O,A,K,S all by myself, which is why it is crooked. They are also from Hobby Lobby. The plate between the doors is from Germany. J brought it to me when he was laid over coming home from Afghanistan. And the magnetic calendar is from Dollar General. I ♥ Sunflowers.
<<< Cross is from H.L. as is the PRAY plaque. Love the lamp (One of 3 matching) from Big Lots. Yes, that is a pack of leftover sparklers from the Fourth of July. Note the green watering can. DVD shelves from Wally World. Clock and candle holders from Kirkland's. Birdcage mirror from Cracker Barrel. Birdbath dish and bowl from Ross.
>>> I love the little bird candles from TJ Maxx. The dish they are in is from a thrift store. The candles on the stand with the rocks are from a neighbor. Pyramid monkey is from the same thrift store as the dish. The doilies are from the $ Tree. I ♥ that place. I have books everywhere. Even in the bathroom. :)
<<< Sorry this picture is so dark. It's pretty cloudy outside today (Friday is when I started this post). Mirror is from Kirkland's. Horseshoe above door was made by a fellow army-wife, Colby. It is yellow with a ribbon hanging from the bottom. The KEYS plaque is from Ross, I believe. The Bless Our Home shelf/rack thingy is possibly from TJ Maxx or H.L. The flag stars and heart are from H.L. Table came from a neighbor that was moving out and didn't have room for it. It was cherry red, but I painted it. The ottoman is actually white with a gray blanket thrown over it until I can find some pretty fabric to cover it. We bought it at the thrift store for $35. The dog came with the husband. I guess technically we're still paying for her. Haha.

  • I think maybe I got carried away with all the green. What do y'all think?
  • I've been reading Chelsea Handler a lot lately. She is so funny. I think next, I'm finally going to finish up the last four books of the Sookie Stackhouse series (aka True Blood on HBO) by Charlaine Harris. Also on my list is The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini.
  • I changed my mind and read The Kite Runner instead. It was pretty good. I was unprepared for the graphic scene and then they wanted to flash back to it a few times. Ugh. All-in-all, it was a good read. I wouldn't rank it on the top of any lists though.
  • I'm currently reading The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. So far, it's confusing. But, I'm only on the 2nd chapter.
  • Did I tell y'all that we got rid of the beetles? They just stopped showing up when it got hot. But yesterday when I cleaned the living room, I moved the rug by the front door and there were three under it. Not a big deal since I hadn't vacuumed since last Monday. But now, we have earwigs. Nasty little things and I can't stand them. At least the beetles didn't bite. And the beetles were slow moving. We're not the only ones with these earwig things though. We cat-sat for our neighbor over the weekend while they were out of town and when I was refilling the cat's water cups, I saw an earwig on the sink. I think they're just bound to be in every apartment b/c of the area. They're attracted to water and moisture, so I don't know why I keep finding them in the living room and bedroom. Ewww.
  • Facebook still reminds me of my statuses from last year:

  • My sister is so funny.
  • Meirikichitokufu is my Japanese name. Or Meirikichi for Whit. What is yours? Use this to help you:    TRY YOUR NAME IN JAPANESE: A= ka, B=tu, C= mi, D= te, E= ku, F=lu, g= ji, H= ri, I= ki, J= zu, K= me, L= ta, M= rin, N= to, O= mo, P= no,Q= ke, R= shi, S= ari, T= chi, U= do, V= ru, W=mei, X= na, Y= fu, Z= zi.... ...then paste your Japanese name in a comment... :-) ..... share this......it's FUN!
  •  Because I'm awesome, that's why.
    • I think this random thing has gone on long enough for this Tuesday. Til next time...

    16 August 2011

RTT: ♫♪Whistle while you clean...doot da doot doot doot da doo...♪♫

    Random Tuesday.
    Bring it.
Keely is still lost in the real world with her job. So, we have to depend on Stacy. She's doing a great job! Be sure to link up over at Stacy Uncorked and keep the random alive! Woot!
    • I remember almost everyone I went to school with and what grades we had the same teachers, but they don't remember me. Weird huh? I think I was just too shy or something.
    • Started "exercising" with the Wii this week. My shoulders and arms are so sore from boxing. You can sure work up a sweat though. J said he will buy me the Wii-fitness if I promise to use it everyday. Anyone else have it?? My sister bought it for her husband last year, I think. I never saw them use it besides that day. Haha.
    • Completely cleaned the house yesterday. I swept and swiffer-swept the kitchen and bathrooms, mopped/swiffer-mopped the kitchen and bathrooms and washed the rugs. Then, I dusted, vacuumed and cleaned up the living room. I hung 6 wall plaques and put together a bookshelf we bought last night. I also washed and folded the whites and towels. Yesterday was busy, busy!
    • We went grocery shopping at Wally World last night and spent $193! Someone decided they needed a coffee maker... I programmed it for him last night and he took some to work with him. Maybe it'll be used. I'm not a big coffee drinker unless it's cold outside or my throat hurts. Mama made me a cup the other day at her house and she puts just the right amount of creamer and sugar in it. Yum. :)
    • Also, at Wally World, J and I got separated when I went to pick up my pictures and he went to pick up the car from the Tire place. I was looking at the front registers for him and I passed a man and woman in an argument. I went by them 4 or 5 times and they were still arguing. They had been up there for at least 15 minutes by the time we went to check out. It just so happens, that the register they were closest to, opened up when we got to them. So, we got to see them arguing some more. Finally, a couple of Wally World managers made them leave. I understand if you are not getting along, but don't fight next to the registers in the main aisle where everyone can see and hear you. Good grief.
    • Jeremy says our new neighbors are not so bad since they're never here. I've only been home since Friday, but he says he hasn't seen them in over a week. Good deal.
    • Our neighbor's cat, Drake came to see my Friday, but I wasn't home yet.
    • Facebook has taken to reminding me of what my status was one year ago. I wonder why I was excited?? It must have been because Jeremy was coming home soon. :)
    • I cleaned the showers and the tub this morning and my arms are killing me! I think I need to do something else besides boxing tomorrow.
    • Y'all know how I love stumbleupon.com? Now I have it on my phone. :) Coolest thing ever.
    • Check out these cute birds!
    • Did I tell y'all about the Lorikeets that we fed at the zoo? When I got in the "cage", they flocked to me. I had at least 6 on me at one time. And it was like 99° outside and very humid, so I was sweating like crazy. And the gross thing is, they were licking the sweat off of my neck. Eww. They only tried to bite at me when I moved the cup from one hand to the other and they thought I was taking it away. Haha.
    • Later this week, I'll post the pictures in their frames that I printed off yesterday. They look really nice. :)
    • Going to the library today. Can't wait to get a new book.
    • I have an eye doctor appt tomorrow. I get to find out how blind I am. Yay...
    • Also, tomorrow, I'm going with Amanda and Mama to a sonogram appt to see the new baby.
    • Friday is the last day to enter the Giveaway! Y'all have to get those entries in!! 60 followers and not even a tenth have entered! C'mon people! You know you wanna win!

Random Tuesday Thoughts: I'm going to be an Aunt x4!!!

Random Tuesday Thoughts is usually brought to you by Keely at The Un Mom,
however, she is currently taking a hiatus from hosting. Still, I am keeping up with the
    randomness.

    • That's right! You heard it first here. I'm going to be an Auntie x4! (times 4!) My sister, Amanda is pregnant with her third! I went with her to see the first sonogram. And I got to hear the heartbeat! It was awesome. It's a tiny little peanut. :P
    • You know you're an Auntie when you choose what to wear (accessories, how low-cut your blouse is, etc..) according to if you're going to be around your nieces and nephews. LOL. (I almost always wear a necklace and then take it off as soon as I get to my sister's. The Princess thinks necklaces are rattles. Today she pulled the bead off of my shoe.)
    •  I made dinner two nights last week! I'm really proud of myself. The first night was Asian.

It wasn't that great if you ask me...
    • The next dinner was Mexican. I made a Quesadilla Casserole by McCormick. It was super-easy and turned out awesome! We still have some in the fridge though. Unfortunately for a family of two, the recipe packet serves 8. It's still good even microwaved!

    •  J finally got paid and I put the check in the bank yesterday and then went shopping. (He said I could!) Then when we went to Wally World for a few things we needed around the house, our card wouldn't work. I had to call the bank, and apparently they don't even add your deposits until that night! (I put the check in the bank at 10:14am!) Stupid Wells-Fargo. We still got our stuff.
    • I got some paint to spiff up my knick-knack shelves. They're just plain wood, so they look a little drab and old school.
    • Last night for dinner we had dessert at Ruby Tuesday's. We split a Blondie for two and a double chocolate cake with ice cream scoops on both. It was so yummy!
    • Right now I'm googling how to cook chicken. Because I don't know. I'm not a cook.
    • Hobby Lobby is having their metal decorations 50% off, I bought several different things. I will post pics later this week. They also have their Easter stuff 50% off! I got several cute decorations and two 12-packs of white plastic eggs for 38¢ each! I'm going to decoupage them with napkins. I got the idea from another blog I read.
    • Due to the business of my day today, this is all the random I can muster. :)

    06 March 2011

Packing is taking up my blogging time!

Day 1 of packing didn't go smoothly at all.
First off, we ran out of boxes. {Wally World didn't save
us that many. Losers.} We made another
run to Wally World to pick up more. When
we went to put them in the car, it was pouring.
We quickly shoved them in the trunk and took
off for home. Got home and it was still pouring,
so we had to leave the boxes in the car so
they wouldn't get ruined. It rained. all. night. long.
J couldn't bring the boxes in until this morning.
I, of course, had an unwelcomed visitor in the
    middle of the night, {5 am= middle of the night}
which caused me to sleep until almost eleven.
I'm still sitting in the living room on the
    laptop-- not packing.
So... here I go. To pack.
    Pack up our junk valuable
    treasures.
Who am I kidding? I'm going to throw
the stuff in the boxes and call it done.

    Six Word Saturday

    We're moving out
    in five days!

{Six Word Saturday is hosted by Cate at Show My Face.
If you plan to participate, be sure to visit her blog
    and link up each Saturday!}
Jeremy is gone now to get the boxes that our
local Wally World saved for us last night. I will
be packing all weekend and hopefully I'll be
done by Monday so we can go secure our new apt.
    We're praying fervently that we're
approved so we won't have to look elsewhere.
Pray for us and wish us luck just in case!

    Have a great weekend y'all!

Mullets: Fashionable or NOT?: Random Tuesday Thoughts

*sigh* I love Tuesdays. :) Tuesdays mean I can be as random as I want to be and no one will think I've gone off my rocker... maybe. Especially not Keely, the host of Random Tuesday Thoughts. When she's not out saving the world, you can find her at The Un Mom.

Last Tuesday I took my sister and niece and nephew
to a few doctor appointments. The Princess had to
have her 4-month check-up that she missed by a
few weeks couple of months. Turns out, she's a very
happy, healthy and smiley baby girl!
See for yourself here and here:

Wednesday I went with my Mom to Wally World
and she bought some dog food and chew sticks.
See José enjoying one here. I also bought a few craft
supplies for a project I'm working on. (Tutorial
    later this week!)

Thursday I did some crafting and posted
a tutorial here. I really love how it turned
out and plan on making a few more this week,
along with my Valentine's Day cards. :)

Friday I didn't really do much of anything,
except make a Facebook Fan Page for my blog!!
(Be sure to become a fan if you follow my blog!
I'll love you forever!! And possibly make
    something for you! ;))

Friday night I couldn't sleep, so I stayed up
all night entering pictures into contests on
Photobucket. You can read about my entries here. I
also watched Khloe snore for about 4 hours.

Saturday I watched the most beautiful sunrise,
blogged my Six Word Saturday and praised God
{still praising Him} because Jeremy got a job
interview!!! His interview was Sunday at noon
and it sounds really promising, because he has
a drug test this Friday!! YAY! Total Excitement!

We also went out to eat at our local Waffle House:
(I had chili...too many onions though.)

and then we went shopping; J let me buy
a LOT of scrapbooking/ crafting supplies. (Watch
for the tutorial later this week to see how I used my
    supplies!) I saw these:

They were almost $3 for only two!! So I bought
some ribbon and tried to make my own...here is what
    mine looks like:
Not bad if I do say so myself. (Look
for them in future projects! :)

Sunday, I slept in super-late because I felt
absolutely awful. When I did get up, I found
out J's interview had gone well. I pre-ordered pizza
and then watched The Princess so my sister
could take Boog to the park. After The Princess
fell asleep, (we left her with Mom)
J and I went to town to pick up the
pizzas and get Mom some Subway. (How annoying
    are those 5-dollar-foot-long commercials?)
Then, we came back home, picked up The Princess
and headed to my sister's house to watch the game.
    (I'm bummed the Steelers didn't win; there's
    always next year!)

Oh yeah... when we were in town picking
up the pizzas, I noticed the temperature gauge in
    my car:
It's broken again. Sometimes it works,
but most of the time it doesn't. It looks
like my car might explode at any minute!

Monday I went with Mama to Nana's. I did Nana's nails
and then we went to Wally World (where I got a few
more supplies I needed for a project for V-Day.)
Saw this lady at the checkout:
(Do people really think mullets look cool?)

On the way home, Mama stopped by Hobby Lobby
so I could check out the clearance section. I only
spent $25, but got some great deals! I plan
on crafting all day tomorrow. :)

That's pretty much my week. I can't wait to see what randomness Keely comes up with. Be sure to check out her blog at The Un Mom. Don't forget to link up and check out some other random people too! Happy Random Tuesday!

    Plans gone awry: Update

Note: All posts this week are scheduled due to the mass load of laundry and tasks I have yet to finish...

Tuesday was a busy, busy day. I had so many errands to run, I never thought I'd finish. As I posted last Friday, my car had to be taken to the shop to find out why exactly, Wally World couldn't do my oil change.

So this morning, bright and early, Mom followed me down to drop my car off. I went in, told the guy my supposed problem and left him the key. Took all of 3 minutes.

We left there and headed to The Pinnacle. I had to pick up an order that the Hubby placed for me. I got there and tried on the intimate apparel and they were...not what I consider...me. So, I tried on LOTS of different items and finally settled on a few of them. After we left that store, Mom and went to Claire's and I got some accessories to wear with my outfit for tomorrow.

Then we had to go to Mom's eye-doctor appointment. They checked the pressure in her eyes and it was still high, so they wanted to run some more tests. Unfortunately, we had already set up a lunch date with Suzette (a fellow army wife) for 1:15 so they had to cancel the tests and set up a new appointment for Mom.

Of course, after we left there, we met up with Suzette and had an awesome lunch at Chick-fil-A. It was so yummy! We talked for over an hour. I'm surprised we even finished eating!

Then we went over to the shopping center and I got my hair cut and eyebrows waxed. Lemme tell you...that was PAINFUL! But completely necessary! HA!

And, because no outfit is complete without the perfect pair of shoes, we went to Kohl's. I found the cutest Mudd shoes! They were only $9.99! I saved $40! What do you think?

After we finally left there, I called to check on my car since no one had called me yet. The guy who answered was surprised when I told him that no one had called. He then told me that there was absolutely no problem with my oil pan or the plug. There was no reason Wally World should have declined to change my oil. All it needed was a proper mechanic apparently. He did replace the gasket while he was at it.

Lesson learned: Don't go to Wally World to have your oil changed.

We had a great day, but it was VERY exhausting. So glad I got all that accomplished though. :)

Hope everyone is having a great Thursday!

    Mil-Spouse Friday Fill-In #3

Oh I know I'm a little late. Heck, Friday is almost over...But I have been a little busy. LOL. Anywho...

    1. What is your spouse's best feature?
I would definitely have to say his beautiful blue eyes! They are so unique! They're almost a clear blue. :) It's the first thing you notice about him. I mean really, see for yourself...
    2. Mild, Medium or Hot sauce?
Medium or mild. I can't really handle that much hot stuff...except for the Hubby. lol.

    3. What is the worst uniform you had to wear for a job?
Well..I have only worked at 5 different places, two of them were Walmarts. (the last job was a Walmart Neighborhood Market) Walmart's dress code is blue shirt and khaki pants. Neighborhood Market's was dark green shirt and khaki pants. I hated the blue the most, especially since I couldn't wear jeans.

    4. You have invisible powers... Where is the first place you would go?
Hmmm....Right now I'd hop a plane to Afghanistan so I could be with J...but any other time? Probably use my powers to sneak into movies. LOL. They're so expensive now!

    5. What's left on your "To-do" list for the summer?
    OH wow, lots of things.
    • Spend more time with Jaybee, my best friend.
    • Go on a mini-vacation with Jaybee.
    • Go to eye-doctor.
    • Go to other doctor...the dreaded one.
    • Get a tan....ha!
    • Lose weight...that's not happening.
    • Finish 2008 in my scrapbook, so I can actually document the birth of my nephew and now my niece. And don't forget J's deployment and homecoming...I'm still in 2008. I'm not going to finish.
    • Plan what J and I will do on our vacation.
My list could probably go on and on for things I need to do, but these are things that I want and have to do before he comes home. Not to mention that the car needs an oil change and new tires...just sayin'...

These are really good questions this go-round. For more Mil-Spouse's Fill-ins head on over to Wife of a Sailor. Be sure to link up and leave a comment!

    Love,

    RTT: You bought what?

    randomtuesday

Went to Wally World last week and bought:
    • shaving gel
    • Flea and Tick drops
    • a travel pillow
    • dog bandana
    • 24-pack Coke Zero
    • chapstick
    • Dog shampoo
    • chocolate milk
And spent $26.73! I can only imagine what the cashier was thinking when I bought this odd assortment of items. It's confusing to me too...

Check out this song my best friend posted on facebook.
