RTT: Nesting and Breaking up our Family

So last week, I got a nesting itch and had to have Jeremy help me rearrange the bedroom. We moved the bed from one wall to the other and then moved everything else around the room to accommodate the bed's new position. I liked it pretty well except for the fact that our bedroom will soon become the baby's room since we aren't moving.

We looked at houses for rent in our area, but our apartment complex requires two months prior notice before moving out. I think it's ridiculous...it's not as if they can show/rent the property while we're living here. They also require a fee of one month's rent to break the lease. We don't want to pay that and we don't have anywhere to move, thanks to the sequestration. *grumble grumble* So it looks like we're going to have to make our small two-bedroom apartment work for now. Which means we will have to get rid of Tobias. :( I love my Toby. I mean, look at this sweet pic of him when he was a baby:
 And this one:

He is the most loving cat that I've ever known. He calls me "mama" and begs to be picked up when I let him out of his room in the mornings. He has calmed down a lot now that he is almost two. It's just, we live in a two bedroom apartment! There is nowhere to put his litter boxes and I can't have him climbing into the crib with the baby. Since the baby will have his/her own room, Toby won't have his own room anymore and he really needs to be put up at night since he is a cat after all...mischievous and curious.

I had the nesting itch again last night and I had Jeremy help (read: Jeremy did all the hard work) me move our bedroom to Toby's room (which is the apartment's master bedroom b/c it has a bathroom). We moved everything from that closet to the storage closet and then the baby clothes/gear went into our old closet. Our old bedroom is still a disaster, but the master bedroom is in working order and I cleaned the tub out today (Toby's litter boxes were in that bathroom).

Now Toby's litter boxes are in the guest bath, which means the entire hallway stinks because J hasn't cleaned them out in awhile. We can't put Toby in that bathroom at night because it's just too small and he begs to be out. We can't leave him out in the "general population," as J calls the apartment as a whole, because he gets into stuff.

It just breaks my heart...
I don't want to have to find my little furry buddy a new home...I loves him.

Not Blogging

You may all be wondering where I've been. Or not. LOL.
For one, I haven't been blogging. That's for sure. I really do regret that, because I love keeping up with everyone through my blog and by reading others' blogs. I haven't read any blogs since before Christmas.
 I have been reading books though! If you haven't already, you can see all of the books I read in 2011, on my the tab at the top of this blog post. And, I started a new tab today with this year's books. I've already read 28! (There's one that I didn't put on the list because it was just nasty. I don't recommend it, at all.)
 Another reason I haven't been blogging is because I've been packing. Oh yeah, that's right. We're moving yet again. Our lease is up at the end of the month, so we're moving all of our stuff into storage, again. I'll be staying with Mama...again, while Jeremy is in school in Pennsylvania for the ARNG. Of course, that is still to be determined, whether or not he is going. He has yet to receive his orders... Hurry up and wait...and all that.
 While Jeremy was in Savannah, GA (his unit is getting a new model of Chinook and they all had to go to Savannah to Hunter Army Airfield for Academics on the new model.), I packed up the living room, spare room, laundry room, bathrooms, bedroom and threw out at least 10 bags of trash and made a giant pile of stuff to donate. I also took out some things my Mama and sister could use and took to them. Including a really heavy tv for my nephew's room. It was ridiculously hard to get in the car by myself, but I managed after struggling with it for an HOUR! The only thing I haven't packed yet are the electronics (i.e. tv, satellite receivers, dvd players and PS3), clothes, miscellaneous junk everywhere and the kitchen. I plan on doing the kitchen this weekend while it's raining. I might even start on it tomorrow, since it's supposed to rain then, too. Saturday, hopefully I will have Janel's help in going through the storage unit and getting rid of things we don't use or need. Most of the stuff in there is Jeremy's or baby clothes. I plan on going through the baby clothes and getting rid of anything I don't think I'll ever use; especially the stained clothing. I plan on donating everything to our local thrift store when we're moving out.
 Today, of course, the sun is shining and it is so warm outside. I really should be down at the storage unit working on it now, instead of blogging. Oh well. I don't have the car, so I can't bring anything out of the storage unit that I want to donate. I'll just have to leave it in there.

Wish me luck with packing and *fingers crossed* Jeremy's absence. Of course, his job contract is over on the 16th, so when he gets back from Pennsylvania, he'll have to find a new job. I pray that he finds one quickly and we can move sooner rather than later. I hate having to depend on my Mama for somewhere to stay, but then again, I didn't really want to stay here in Anniston by myself.

Hopefully this won't be my last blog post. Haha. I do have my own laptop now, thankfully! :)

What do you think of the new layout?

Random Tuesday Thoughts: Where did this come from?

Random Tuesday Thoughts is brought to you by Keely, The Un Mom. To participate, check out her blog and leave a comment. Then link up your random Tuesday post! Start randomizing!

  • Believe it or not, we're completely unpacked. Well... we're completely unpacked with what we want to have unpacked. We left all the junk we didn't know what to do with, with the organization fairies in the storage unit.
  • Sabrina snores.
  • Jeremy rode his new bike to work today and now it is raining.
  • Every morning this week and last, I have gotten up before 8 and this morning I slept until 9.
  • We agreed to not let Sabrina on the furniture. {Mainly because the couch is white and Sabrina is black.}
  • This morning I let Sabrina get on the bed while I was sleeping. I'm going to say I didn't know she was there...
  • The only thing I accomplished yesterday, was washing one load of jeans. {Perhaps later I'll tell you why.}
  • I'm currently working on a craft to decorate the house, instead of making the bed.
  • I've never really understood why we even make the bed, since we'll be messing it up when we go to sleep anyway.
  • The lady who lives above us washes laundry every morning at 5 am.
  • My Mama and I think she is OCD. How can one person have so much laundry?? Maybe her dog is dirty...a lot.
  • Did I tell y'all I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism? I despise taking pills. I despise needles even more. So having to take pills everyday and get my blood drawn every month is quite annoying.
  • On the other hand, it's a great thing to know why I can put a check next to 90% of the symptoms listed for hypothyroidism.
  • I'm thinking of vegging on the couch today and watching The Gilmore Girls...all day.
  • Jeremy's work week this week will be 40 hours long. Then he has drill Saturday and Sunday. It's going to be a very long week.
  • Next week will be a 72-hour work week. Yep...that's 12-hours a day, 6 days a week. *Sigh* At least it's better than Afghanistan!
  • While unpacking, we discovered things we didn't even know we had! We immediately started a box for donation. I'm sure there's someone out there that will buy that broken candleholder and the wedding album from the 60's. {I was totally going to keep the album until I realized we are never going to get that woman who took our wedding pictures, to send the pics to us...}
  • I found a basket full of mis-matched socks. Donate those bad boys! People need socks!
  • I woke up yesterday to a sore throat and stuffy nose. We went to Bed, Bath & Beyond to look around and all of the scent packets made my eyes water and nose run. I sneezed at least 47 times just walking through the store. Now I have a full-blown cold. Thank you allergies.
  • I'm on the phone with the AT&T guy to find out why we don't have our modem for internet yet. I am currently borrowing internet from an unsuspecting neighbor. { What? They should have it secured!}
  • When J came home from Afghanistan, the Yellow Ribbon Program had a ceremony for them. J got a Defender of Freedom Ring and several other awards. They gave me a really pretty clock for the mantle {that we don't have}. It currently is an hour behind and chimes 2 hours behind. J put it together, and now we know why...
  • The AT&T guy tried to sell me some more of their services. I felt bad telling him we decided to go with someone else as far as satellite goes.
  • J took a big chunk out of the corner of a wall in the spare bedroom while he was moving a small side table. I think we'll just wait til we're moving out to have it fixed. lol.
  • While we were putting our entertainment center thingy together, I was trying to open the package with the screws and I stabbed myself with J's Leatherman Tool knife. I feel like it went through the muscle.
  • Our internet box thingy won't be here until tomorrow, since, as of 4am this morning, it was in Mesquite, Texas.
  • That's all the random I can muster on my lazy day. Check back the other days of the week to see the rest of my randomness.

Six Word Saturday

Can't believe how
much we accomplished!
We're done unpacking! Well, pretty much anyway.
And it's only been four days since we moved in!
AND, we have house-guests! Jeremy's Mom and Dad are
staying with us this weekend.
I hope everyone is having a great Saturday like we
are! It's so beautiful here and it's finally warm
again. Last night was 34°F and today it's 72°F!
Have a great 6WS and a great weekend altogether!

Packing is taking up my blogging time!

Day 1 of packing didn't go smoothly at all.
First off, we ran out of boxes. {Wally World didn't save
us that many. Losers.} We made another
run to Wally World to pick up more. When
we went to put them in the car, it was pouring.
We quickly shoved them in the trunk and took
off for home. Got home and it was still pouring,
so we had to leave the boxes in the car so
they wouldn't get ruined. It rained. all. night. long.
J couldn't bring the boxes in until this morning.
I, of course, had an unwelcomed visitor in the
middle of the night, {5 am= middle of the night}
which caused me to sleep until almost eleven.
I'm still sitting in the living room on the
laptop-- not packing.
So... here I go. To pack.
Pack up our junk valuable
treasures.
Who am I kidding? I'm going to throw
the stuff in the boxes and call it done.

Six Word Saturday

We're moving out
in five days!

{Six Word Saturday is hosted by Cate at Show My Face.
If you plan to participate, be sure to visit her blog
and link up each Saturday!}
Jeremy is gone now to get the boxes that our
local Wally World saved for us last night. I will
be packing all weekend and hopefully I'll be
done by Monday so we can go secure our new apt.
We're praying fervently that we're
approved so we won't have to look elsewhere.
Pray for us and wish us luck just in case!

Have a great weekend y'all!

Six Word Saturday

Looking for apartments
is very frustrating.
Especially when your husband
doesn't agree that you're a
better driver.
 I'm just saying...
We did almost wreck though.
So frustrating.
Not my fault; his.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
Pray that we find an apartment that we
can both agree on. Or a house. I would
 really like a house. But whatever.

Be sure to visit Cate at Show My Face.
Link up and join in on the fun!
