Wordless Wednesday

Happy Halloween!

RTT: You had me at Pinterest

Tuesday. Yay!
Stacy is still the Random Queen until Keely decides to take the throne again. I miss her. :( But Stacy is a pretty awesome ruler, if you ask me! Check out her blog, Stacy Uncorked. Leave her a comment and link up to RTT. Go forth and be random!

  • Lately, it's gotten to where I don't want to do anything but play Farmville. I need to ween myself off of it some. I haven't played it in over a year and they have all kinds of new stuff going on!
  • Yesterday, I spent 2 hours decorating the house for Halloween! :) I'll have to post some pictures later this week. I didn't feel like busting out the camera. {That's weird, right?}
  • I just gave Tobias a bath. He's pretty mad at me, which is just what I wanted. He was driving me INSANE! He always wants to lay right under my face and I can't see the laptop/tv/book that I'm working on/ watching/ reading. So, I gave him a bath, so he can spend the next hour "drying" himself. LOL.
  • J and I watched Hellraiser last night. Really creepy. I hate the chompy guy. His name is Chatterer. I'll put a picture on here so y'all can be as sufficiently creeped out as I am:

  • Are y'all ready for Halloween? We are. We've been watching scary movies to get ourselves ready. We watched Scream 1-4, Jason X, Trick r Treat {which had no plot, what-so-ever and really annoyed us.}, Halloweentown, Hellraiser, Coraline. Actually, I watched Coraline by myself last night. J fell asleep at 7:15. I kept trying to make him go to bed, but he wouldn't. So, he slept on the couch during the whole movie. *sigh*
  • I have an addiction to Pinterest and it would appear that half of Facebook does too. LOL. I even got stuck pinning last night around one am! {from my phone, no less.}
  • Speaking of Pinterest, I saw this while I was stumbling:
  • We bought the supplies yesterday. FYI, Hobby Lobby is having a great sale on their jewelry supplies. I got the string for less than two bucks! The straight pins I bought at Wally World for around $2.67. This is gonna look so cool! :)
  • I just got stuck pinning for 30 minutes while looking for the above pin. *sigh*. Pinterest will suck you in, man!
  • And just now I got stuck stumbling. This is a cool site, check THIS out! You draw your own stickman and then it comes alive! And offers you tea and cookies. Not really, but it does become animated and you can interact with it. :P
  • Well, Tobias loves me again and is currently blocking the laptop, so I'll let the randomness end here.
Hope everyone is having a great week. Happy RTT!

Mil-Spouse Friday Fill-in #56

Friday!! Better late than never. Although, I think this week went by rather quickly. Let's hang out with Wifey for Friday Fill-in time and see what all the Mil-Spouses are up to this weekend.

1. My plans for this weekend include sitting on the couch, watching tv, watching Football and playing Wii, but what I'd really like to do is go to the lake, swim and fish.

2. I consider the Labor Day holiday just another holiday to do nothing.

3. My favorite meal for cookouts is hamburgers, hotdogs, baked beans, and potato salad, but my husband wouldn't agree.

4. So far, my favorite part of summer has been catching up on my reading list and spending time with my Hubby.

5. When it comes to deployments, my philosophy is keep busy and keep moving forward.

RTT: I thought it was Monday...

I forgot that we had a three-day weekend! I didn't know that it was Tuesday until I saw Stacy's post on Facebook. *sigh* That's what I get for not having a job. LOL. I don't keep up with the days as well.

I'm beginning to think Keely is never coming back. This is week TEN of her hiatus. That new job must really be keeping her busy. All those pirate parties and what-not. {Not that I'm jealous or anything.} If you want to participate in RTT, be sure to link up your post here or at Stacy's blog. She's been carrying the load, since Keely's disappearance.

  • Wednesday I painted. It was fun, but it didn't turn out so great. :( I painted a smaller pic and it was really cute, so I'm going to try to duplicate it later and maybe do a giveaway??
  • Wednesday night, J and I watched Gnomio and Juliet. It was SO CUTE! I loved it. I can't wait to buy it on DVD. We ate some yummy Chinese food for dinner.
  • Did I tell you that I ran into the dishwasher and bruised my leg last Monday? Yeah... and Wednesday I dropped the sewing machine on my wrist while I was hemming the sleeves on J's work uniform. Then Thursday, I caught the oven on fire.
  • I was making that yummy banana bread again and I filled the pans too full and they overflowed into the bottom of the oven. Some of the batter got on the heating element and caught on fire. J was home, thankfully, and he helped put it out. The bread went into the trash. What a waste. :(
  • Friday I woke up a little after 7 and could barely move. My back hurt so bad! I took a shower and walked outside with Sabrina and then I sat on the couch til J got home. I was in tears. He took me to the doctor and they x-rayed my back, but didn't see anything wrong with my spine. The doctor said he could see that I had a muscle that was spazzing though. He prescribed me some muscle relaxers (that don't last very long.) and arthritis medicine. Weird...
  • Friday I watched Remember Me... who thought up that movie? It is so sad and depressing! Robert Pattinson is such a hottie.
  • Saturday our neighbors were having a yard sale with their friends so we took some of our junk down there to sell with them. We made like $7 and I spent $5 on a really cute wall hanging. I'll have to post a picture of it when we get the laptop back. (It's on its way.)
  • We got burnt at the yard sale. My chest and the back of my neck hurt so much.
  • We also went swimming Saturday, so that added to our sunburns. And we went to the mall so J could get some new swim trunks. While we were there we saw a movie.
  • Hangover 2 was AWESOME! Lots of nudity but it was hilarious. (The couple in front of us, had their little boy with them! He couldn't have been any older than 10!)
  • I also got a new phone; Motorola Atrix. I love it. It's awesome!! I keep running the battery down because I play with it so much. lol.
  • Sunday,  because my back was still killing me and we were so burnt, we stayed in most of the day. We didn't want to be in the sun because it hurt so badly. We played games on the Wii; Life, Clue and Mousetrap. Jeremy beat me at all but Mousetrap.
  • After the sun went down, we got in the pool and it felt great! Just warm enough and felt great to our burns.
  • Yesterday we went shopping for a headboard, but couldn't find one. We ended up buying an Otterbox case for my phone and a phone cover for J's phone. Didn't even find a headboard in our price range. *sigh* I guess we'll just have to keep pulling our pillows out from behind the bed.
  • We rented The Mechanic with Jason Statham. (He's in the movie, we didn't rent the movie with him. I wish he came with the movie though.) I told J that Jason is so hot. I said, "He's as hot as you are." J said, "He's as hot as me, or hotter than me." I said, "If I didn't think you were hotter than Jason Statham, I wouldn't have married you. I would have married Jason Statham." LOL. J thought it was funny, but I was serious...
  • I took time out to thank my Soldier for his service to our country in honor of Memorial Day. Did you thank a soldier yesterday? What did you do for Memorial Day?
Be sure to link up to this post with your own Random Tuesday Thoughts. :) I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend!

Christmas Eve Eve

I can't believe it's almost Christmas! I'm completely ready for Christmas to come and go. Don't get me wrong...I love Christmas. I'm just tired of all the stress and trying to make plans with three different families. Phew...

Thursdays are so boring in blogging world. {Someone really should create a Thursday meme! *hint hint*} I thought it would be interesting to give y'all a couple of

December 23, 1888
After an argument with fellow painter Paul Gauguin, Vincent van Gogh takes a razor and removes a portion of his left ear. Their quarrel regarded the prostitutes in Arles who seemed to prefer Gauguin over Van Gogh; the painter delivered his ear to one Rachel, who preferred Van Gogh. She fainted.

Bodies of 16 members of the Solar Temple cult who had committed suicide are found on a plateau in the French Alps. Their bodies are charred and arranged in a star formation. Causes of death included stabbing, asphyxiation, gunshot, and poisoning. In 1994, 53 other members had committed suicide in similar fashion.

Interesting, right? People are crazy.
But God is Great all the time!

Has everyone gotten all of their shopping done? I
finished last night. I only had to buy a few stocking-
stuffers and I was done. No surprise that Wally World
was really busy when we checked out. My sister
and I stood in line for about 25 minutes.
Thank God the guys had the babies. I don't
think we could have made it. LOL.

J and I met up with his parents, sister and brother-in-law
at Applebee's last night. It was a great meal and it was
good to see his parents. It's been awhile since we've
seen them since they do live in Florida. {They brought J's
dog, Sabrina, up with them. She's staying at my sister's
house.}
Sabrina in front of Amanda's
Christmas tree. She looks a little bit evil.

Today, J and I are having his family over to Mom's house,
so we can exchange gifts. I hope they like what
we got them. :)
For Jeremy's parents, I got a Boyd's Bears figurine:
Rooney...Proud to be an American

For his Dad, we got a Coat-of-Arms & Family History
from Family Crest in Ober-Gatlinburg:
This is just one of their samples. "Oaks" looks
a lot different. {We also got one for ourselves,
since they were BOGO half-off!}

For Miranda (J's sister), from Willow Tree®
by DEMDACO- Child of My Heart:
She should be having her baby boy in 5-1/2 weeks!

For John, J bought a gift card to Academy. LOL. Men are so hard
to buy for! I also got Miranda a scrapbook for
the baby and a few small things for everyone else.
I hope they will like these gifts. I know I do! :)

What are y'all buying for your family members? Or
In-laws, friends, neighbors, etc?

A Soldier's Silent Night

TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS,
HE LIVED ALL ALONE,
IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE MADE OF
PLASTER AND STONE.

I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY
WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE,
AND TO SEE JUST WHO
IN THIS HOME DID LIVE.

I LOOKED ALL ABOUT,
A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE,
NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS,
NOT EVEN A TREE.

NO STOCKING BY MANTLE,
JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND,
ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES
OF FAR DISTANT LANDS.

WITH MEDALS AND BADGES,
AWARDS OF ALL KINDS,
A SOBER THOUGHT
CAME THROUGH MY MIND.

FOR THIS HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT,
IT WAS DARK AND DREARY,
I FOUND THE HOME OF A SOLDIER,
ONCE I COULD SEE CLEARLY.

THE SOLDIER LAY SLEEPING,
SILENT, ALONE,
CURLED UP ON THE FLOOR
IN THIS ONE BEDROOM HOME.

THE FACE WAS SO GENTLE,
THE ROOM IN SUCH DISORDER,
NOT HOW I PICTURED
A UNITED STATES SOLDIER.

WAS THIS THE HERO
OF WHOM I'D JUST READ?
CURLED UP ON A PONCHO,
THE FLOOR FOR A BED?

I REALIZED THE FAMILIES
THAT I SAW THIS NIGHT,
OWED THEIR LIVES TO THESE SOLDIERS
WHO WERE WILLING TO FIGHT.

SOON ROUND THE WORLD,
THE CHILDREN WOULD PLAY,
AND GROWNUPS WOULD CELEBRATE
A BRIGHT CHRISTMAS DAY.

THEY ALL ENJOYED FREEDOM
EACH MONTH OF THE YEAR,
BECAUSE OF THE SOLDIERS,
LIKE THE ONE LYING HERE.

I COULDN'T HELP WONDER
HOW MANY LAY ALONE,
ON A COLD CHRISTMAS EVE
IN A LAND FAR FROM HOME.

THE VERY THOUGHT
BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE,
I DROPPED TO MY KNEES
AND STARTED TO CRY.

THE SOLDIER AWAKENED
AND I HEARD A ROUGH VOICE,
"SANTA DON'T CRY,
THIS LIFE IS MY CHOICE;

I FIGHT FOR FREEDOM,
I DON'T ASK FOR MORE,
MY LIFE IS MY GOD,
MY COUNTRY, MY CORPS."

THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER
AND DRIFTED TO SLEEP,
I COULDN'T CONTROL IT,
I CONTINUED TO WEEP.

I KEPT WATCH FOR HOURS,
SO SILENT AND STILL
AND WE BOTH SHIVERED
FROM THE COLD NIGHT'S CHILL.

I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE
ON THAT COLD, DARK, NIGHT,
THIS GUARDIAN OF HONOR
SO WILLING TO FIGHT.

THEN THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER,
WITH A VOICE SOFT AND PURE,
WHISPERED, "CARRY ON SANTA,
IT'S CHRISTMAS DAY, ALL IS SECURE."

ONE LOOK AT MY WATCH,
AND I KNEW HE WAS RIGHT.
"MERRY CHRISTMAS MY FRIEND,
AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU THIS NIGHT."

This poem was written by a Marine stationed in Okinawa Japan. The
following is his request. I think it is reasonable.....

PLEASE. Would you do me the kind favor of sending this to as many people as you can? Christmas will be coming soon and some credit is due to our U.S. service men and women for our being able to celebrate these festivities.

Let's try in this small way to pay a tiny bit of what we owe. Make people stop and think of our heroes, living and dead, who sacrificed themselves for us. Please, do your small part to plant this small seed.

RTT: Grocery Shopping @ the last minute!!!

randomtuesday
Including myself...why do we always wait til the last minute to shop for groceries for Thanksgiving, when it's the same day every year? Seriously....Wal-mart on Tuesday is way over-crowded...Yet that's the day I've chosen to get all the stuff my sister listed
for me to bring to Thanksgiving dinner. Did I mention I have to make 4 dozen stuffed-eggs? Because not only is Thanksgiving this Thursday, but my Husband's side of the family is having their Family Reunion this weekend... Although, I do make the best stuffed-eggs if I do say so myself. ;)
Pray for me!
I Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving week!
