RTT: Summertime, School, Mother's Day, etc.

It's Random Tuesday Thoughts, brought to you by Stacy at Stacy Uncorked! Be sure to check out her blog and link up if you want to participate!
 Stacy
  • It's finally summertime! We got to get in the pool yesterday and even though it was really, really cold at first, we stayed in for about 30 minutes or so. Today it's supposed to be upwards of 89°F, so I'm hoping we can go swim again when J gets off work!
  • We decided to keep Tobias around for now. I love him so much and it breaks my heart to think about finding him a new home, so we're looking into getting him de-clawed. He has been scratching up the furniture lately and we can't afford for him to do that. We really can't afford for him to scratch the baby when he/she arrives, so Toby needs those little daggers gone!
  • ^^Toby listening to the baby yesterday. :)
  • I'm 29 weeks as of yesterday! I am so excited! I can't wait to meet my little "acorn!"
  • My first Mother's Day as a mother-to-be was wonderful! J got me this beautiful necklace (the little diamond represents our little "acorn!"):
  • J and I went to church at Somerville Baptist and they gave all the mothers a little purse mirror:
  •  After church, we ate at Cracker Barrel. Then we went home to let the girls go outside to potty. J gave me my second mother's day present. It's a calendar to record the baby's first year. (It's pink, but he said that since I'm the one filling it out, it doesn't matter if we have a boy or girl. ):
  • After resting a bit at home, we went to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens. It was such a beautiful day! J took this pic of me standing on the bridge:
  • This past Saturday, J and I had maternity pics taken by my friend Audrey. It rained the entire time we were shooting and only stopped just after we were done for the day! But, even though it was raining, we had a great time and it was well worth it! Here's my favorite so far:
  • I made A's in American Literature, Psychology, and Physical Science and I made a B in Calculus! New semester starts the 23rd. I'm only taking Art Appreciation and Physical Science II. I'm hoping it will be an easy semester.
That's all I've got for now. Please pray for the victims of the tornado outbreak in Oklahoma.

RTT: I don't know...

Lemme go ahead and just start of the random with a bunch of bullets...you know how much I love those!
  •  Got a new post over at "I'm Pregnant...Now What?". Read it and leave me some advice!
  • J and I did some thinking and since he was told by the recruiter he can't go active right now, we are just going to stick it out here in Huntsville/Madison until after the baby comes. No sense in switching doctors and cities right before my due date. So we're stuck in this two bedroom apartment. I think we're going to be able to make it work though. As long as we're not still here when the baby starts crawling! We seriously need a room for just our sharp pointy furniture! LOL.
  • We got a new washer and dryer! I'm in love...mainly with the color, but also with the fact that they are both quiet and I can wash more at one time. Plus, hello! Energy efficient! I hate that we couldn't get the pedestals because of the shelves, but the guy at Lowe's said if we move somewhere that we will have the room for them, they will come out and install them for us! Sweet! It sucks having to get into the floor to do laundry. Especially when you're pregnant!

I finished my American Literature research paper in one day! Only took me five hours!
    • I'm really frustrated right now, because I can't get the stupid bullets to work right anymore, so I'm not going to even write anymore...so there! Stupid blogger.
That is all the random I can handle today. I'm about to throw this laptop. Go see if Stacy is having a better day at Stacy Uncorked, and link up with the randomness!

RTT: Nesting and Breaking up our Family

So last week, I got a nesting itch and had to have Jeremy help me rearrange the bedroom. We moved the bed from one wall to the other and then moved everything else around the room to accommodate the bed's new position. I liked it pretty well except for the fact that our bedroom will soon become the baby's room since we aren't moving.

We looked at houses for rent in our area, but our apartment complex requires two months prior notice before moving out. I think it's ridiculous...it's not as if they can show/rent the property while we're living here. They also require a fee of one month's rent to break the lease. We don't want to pay that and we don't have anywhere to move, thanks to the sequestration. *grumble grumble* So it looks like we're going to have to make our small two-bedroom apartment work for now. Which means we will have to get rid of Tobias. :( I love my Toby. I mean, look at this sweet pic of him when he was a baby:
 And this one:

He is the most loving cat that I've ever known. He calls me "mama" and begs to be picked up when I let him out of his room in the mornings. He has calmed down a lot now that he is almost two. It's just, we live in a two bedroom apartment! There is nowhere to put his litter boxes and I can't have him climbing into the crib with the baby. Since the baby will have his/her own room, Toby won't have his own room anymore and he really needs to be put up at night since he is a cat after all...mischievous and curious.

I had the nesting itch again last night and I had Jeremy help (read: Jeremy did all the hard work) me move our bedroom to Toby's room (which is the apartment's master bedroom b/c it has a bathroom). We moved everything from that closet to the storage closet and then the baby clothes/gear went into our old closet. Our old bedroom is still a disaster, but the master bedroom is in working order and I cleaned the tub out today (Toby's litter boxes were in that bathroom).

Now Toby's litter boxes are in the guest bath, which means the entire hallway stinks because J hasn't cleaned them out in awhile. We can't put Toby in that bathroom at night because it's just too small and he begs to be out. We can't leave him out in the "general population," as J calls the apartment as a whole, because he gets into stuff.

It just breaks my heart...
I don't want to have to find my little furry buddy a new home...I loves him.

RTT: Plans Gone Awry

Last Friday (March 22nd), the recruiter J had been talking to called to tell him that because of the sequestration, J will not be able to reenlist as active duty. Ridiculous. He was just days away from signing the paperwork.

So it looks like we'll be here in Huntsville for awhile longer. We're still unsure of our plans. Pray for us that our new path will be revealed soon.

This is as random as I'm gonna be today. Link up with Stacy Uncorked for more randomness.

RTT: 20 Weeks, Midterms Finally Over, Spring Break!

I am so happy that midterms are finally over. I can enjoy spring break now, even though I didn't do so well on my calculus midterm (only made a 75...) and then I bombed a psychology test that I wasn't ready for. The last two weeks were just PACKED with schoolwork. It's so stressful to think about, I don't even feel like recapping it for y'all.

We went to the doctor Friday and got to watch our "little acorn" grooving! I posted a video on my other blog. (If you think you can tell the gender from the video, please don't tell me! :) We want it to be a surprise!)

It's spring break! And of course, we aren't going anywhere because J has to work. And get this...my science professor assigned homework that is due tomorrow! Guess who isn't going to do it...

This is all the random I can muster right now. I need to go clean something. I'm having some kind of nesting thing...

Hope everyone has a great Random Tuesday! Don't forget to link up over at Stacy Uncorked!

 Stacy

P.S. J's conditional release paperwork has been signed and is being processed! We're going active! I'm excited and nervous all at the same time! I really dread packing. Boo!

19 February 2013

RTT: Our Last Valentine's Day Weekend as a Family of Two! (Friday & Saturday)

J and I decided to spend our last V-day weekend as a family of two in Chattanooga, TN. We had a great time! Here is the timeline and what we did:

Friday (the 15th):
  • I worked on schoolwork all day, washed laundry, cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes and packed while J was at work.
  • I packed up food, treats and toys for Sabrina and Reba and dug out their medical records.
  • When J got home, I quickly showered and dressed and we loaded up the girls to take them to the Madison Animal Care Hospital for boarding. *notes at the bottom*
  • After we dropped the girls off, we headed to Jaybee's church for the annual birthday dinner. The food was amazing! They served green beans, ham (which I don't eat, so J got an extra helping), mashed potatoes, pineapple casserole (so good, I had seconds!) and a roll. Everyone at our table could tell they were sitting with a pregnant woman since I was stealing green beans off of J's plate and I cleaned my plate and had seconds of mashed potatoes, pineapple casserole and another roll! For dessert, they had an entire wall in the hallway that was lined with tables full of all kinds of cakes! There were so many to choose from, but I chose a chocolate cake with a cherry on top, coconut cake (to die for!) and a mandarin orange cake that was super-moist! They were all so yummy and I definitely got full!
  • After most everyone was finished eating, the church members put on little skits, sang and told jokes. I really enjoyed myself and my cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing so much! Thanks again for inviting us Jaybee!
  • When we left the church, it was already almost 9! We stopped by Wal-mart to get a few things for the weekend, including: new loofah for me, travel containers for shampoo, conditioner, body wash and face soap; candy, drinks, nutty-butty bars (which I've been craving lately...), air fresheners for the car and a couple of cd's.
  • By the time we got home, finished packing, fed Toby and J cleaned out his litterboxes, it was after midnight. It took forever for us to go to sleep. Mainly because we couldn't shut up or shut our brains off and J eventually ended up going to the couch so I could sleep.
  • We got up at 5:30 ( I think...that was a couple of days ago, so I can't be sure! haha) and showered, dressed and loaded the car. I spent a little extra time loving on Toby while J was packing the car up. We ended up leaving late because J couldn't find the cigarette lighter charger adapter thingy, so that we could plug in more than one device at a time.
  • We stopped by McDonald's and grabbed some breakfast on our way out of town.
  • It only took about two hours to get to Chattanooga and although we forgot about the time change difference, we were still there pretty early. We went straight to the Tennessee Aquarium and bought tickets. (FYI, they're giving a 50% off discount to students this month!) With the IMAX, both aquariums and a backstage pass for the Ocean Journey, it ended up being only about $60! Not bad for two people!
  • We were going to get something to eat before we went into the aquariums, but no one was open yet for lunch, so we went ahead into the River Journey building. I cannot express how much I love the aquariums! I could go every month and never get tired of seeing all the different fish and animals! I'm like a little kid. :P

The smaller turtle was swimming close to the bigger turtle the whole
time we were watching them. It looked like the little one was trying to
get a kiss!

Nemo!

  • After the River Journey, we went to eat lunch. We wanted to eat at TGIFriday's, but the wait time was 45 minutes or more, so we went to Buffalo Wild Wings instead. It was really good and I was starving. I had the Buffalo Ranch Chicken Wrap, which I always have. The lady was so sweet, she brought me a huge handful of celery to munch on while we waited for our food. I honestly have no clue what J ate, since I was so absorbed in my food. Haha.
  • We played games while we ate. J played some kind of poker and I played the Lunchtime trivia. I won...twice. Although, I played by myself the first time. Haha!
  • After lunch, we went to watch the IMAX movie. It was so pretty to see the different ocean creatures up close. Some of them were really scary though, like the eel. J fell asleep during the movie and I had to keep nudging him. Also, they told us to move into the middle of the theater with no empty seats, because they had sold out of the show. So, I was sitting to very large lady who kept hitting me with her elbow.
  • After the IMAX show, we headed back to the aquarium to tour the Ocean Journey. J was so tired and it was so incredibly hot in there, that we really just cruised through so we could get out sooner. Plus, it was so crowded! I have never seen it so busy there before. We did spend a little time at the Ray tanks, so I could pet them. I never miss that opportunity!
  • When we left, we had to walk all the way back to the car which was parked in the lot in front of the River Journey building. As we were walking through the parking lot, I spotted a $20 bill under a van. I grabbed it before the wind could carry it away. There was no one around, so I just kept it. J looked to see if there was more and he found $2! (Which we would need Sunday!)
  • We got to our hotel (Holiday Inn Express), checked in and immediately stripped down and put on our swimsuits! I was more than ready to swim!
  • The pool room was WAY TOO HUMID so J cracked open the door to the outside and stuck his flip-flop in so that it couldn't shut. It cooled off after awhile and it was more tolerable. I stayed in the pool a good hour or more. J could only handle so much of it. It was a salt-water pool, so to my tired pregnant body, it felt really great!
  • After I had a craving for some milk while swimming, J went to the front desk to get me some milk and to get his phone from the room so we could listen to some music while I swam. When he came back, we looked outside and it was snowing! It didn't stick, but it was really cool to see it snowing outside while I was in a swimming pool inside!
  • After I got all pruney and super-tired, I got out and we rushed upstairs to finish drying off and decide where to eat for dinner. I laid down in the super-hard and uncomfortable bed and fell asleep for an hour or more. J let me sleep while he got dressed and left the room for awhile. When I woke up, he was back and I had a bad headache. I dug out my one reserve of Tylenol and took it to try and relieve my massive headache. It didn't really help that much, so I went ahead and got dressed for dinner.
  • We headed towards the mall about 10 miles away to find somewhere to eat. We didn't see anything along the way and ended up eating at Red Robin (YUM!) which was attached to the mall. It took forever for our food to come out and I was starting to feel really bad. By the time the food got there, I was already really nauseous. And then, to make matters worse, they brought me my chicken sandwich with onions on the plate which really made me sick. The waiter had to take it away to remove the onions and replace my lettuce and tomatoes that had been touching it. I ate several of J's sweet potato fries while I waited for my food to return. When our waitress brought my plate back, I scarfed down my sandwich and ate a few fries. I finished my chocolate milkshake (which was really just vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup and not enough of it...) and I was ready to go.
  • We went back to the hotel and got ready for bed. We watched a little TV while we waited for more pillows to be brought up and then tried to sleep. I say try, because I was so uncomfortable! The mattress was so cheap, the springs were stabbing me in the hips and shoulders and everywhere else! I probably got about four hours of sleep before I woke up for good at 7:30 (30 minutes before the alarm went off...of course) with another headache.
This post is already really long, so I'll continue our weekend recap tomorrow with Sunday and Monday. :) I'm not really sure if this post constitutes random, but I'm going to say it does! If you're thinking of any random thoughts, be sure to write a post and then link up at Stacy Uncorked!

23 October 2012

RTT: School, Birthday, Family, etc.

I should be doing my Psychology notes since I have an exam that opens tomorrow and closes Thursday, but I really need a break. I thought I might try to do a little catching up on Facebook, but no one was posting anything exciting so I'm just gonna blog. :)

  • Finally finished my math assignment today, thanks to my sister.
  • Finished history study guide and quiz. Made 100%!
  • Finished English discussion after reading two poems. (supposed to read like 10? Didn't feel like it.)
  • Saturday J dropped me off at Jo-Ann's Fabrics to do a crafting event with Jaybee and Shelby. We made Fairies (Tinkerbell). Glitter EVERYWHERE!!!

    • Sunday we went to church and afterwards ate at Cracker Barrel. I love looking around in the store while we wait for our table to be ready. Look at this cute owl I "need!"
    Light-up Owl Lamp
    • We went to church Sunday evening too, but didn't like the guest speaker as much as we like the Pastor. :/
    • Yesterday my Mom, Sister, nephew and two nieces came to see me and spend some time with me for my birthday. :) Super-sweet! They may have wrecked my living room but I love them anyway!
    • I made a Turkey breast (cooked in the crockpot), candied Yams, green beans and stuffing last night for dinner. It was so yummy! I enjoyed a leftover turkey with cranberry sauce sandwich for lunch today. Mmmm!
    • I announced yesterday to my sister and Mom that Jeremy is going active duty! Surprisingly, they both seemed to handle it well. I did not expect that, especially after the reaction Jeremy recieved from his parents--namely his Dad.
    • I am excited that J is going active. I can't wait to see where this new path God has placed before us will lead. :)
    • Went outside to walk the pups earlier today and smelled gas really strongly. I walked around to the front of the building and J's car was leaking gas. I called him and asked him what to do and he said to look under the hood and find what was leaking and somehow stop it. I did...turns out he had cut the hose and left it hanging...DUH! I just rubber-banded it to the brake fluid container so that it wasn't pulling anymore gasoline out of the tank. I'm a regular Mrs. Fix-it! Haha!
I hope everyone is having a great Tuesday! Tomorrow is my Birthday!!! WOOT! I can't believe I'm going to be 27! I will try to post Thursday with my spoils! I already have my gifts from Mom and Sister. Wait til you see what the kiddos made me. :)

    10 October 2012

    RTT: Not enough time!

I haven't had a good rant in quite awhile, so I thought I'd step up on the soap-box and complain a little.
We can call this the Random Tuesday Thoughts that I didn't have until Wednesday...

    • I should be working on my History Midterm that is due Friday, but I don't feel like writing a 3-5 page essay today. I worked 8-9 hours straight yesterday on four short essays for my history midterm. WTH? Why does this professor assign so much work? I've been asking that from day one.
    • Not only do I have a history midterm due Friday, I have a math (in-class) midterm tomorrow at 6. Which means I only have today and tomorrow to study for the exam. Also, I have to drive two hours to my sister's house to study with her and then we have to drive at least 45 minutes to the campus. Furthermore, we have never been to the GSB at the Shelby Campus, so we have no idea where we'll be taking the exam. Hopefully our professor is just as nice as our professor from last semester. *fingers crossed*
    • I turned in an essay for English that was due the 7th a few days early. That was nerve-racking trying to get it done before the weekend so we could go to Talladega (we did go!).
    • Thankfully, my English teacher doesn't have anything assigned until the end of the month. I am so grateful for that.
    • My psychology professor obviously thinks that we don't have enough work to do, so he has assigned discussions now. He thinks we don't have enough interactions. It was fine with me! I didn't want to have to interact with another class. Isn't two interactions with two other classes enough?
    • Want to know what the next couple of weeks consists of for me? I'm gonna tell you anyway!
    • Tomorrow is the math midterm @ 6pm.
    • History midterm is due Friday @ 11:59 pm.
    • Jeremy has drill this weekend, so I will at least have all of my attention on schoolwork.
    • Chapter 8 Quiz in History opens up on Sunday, which means I have to have my study guide completed before Monday, so I can take the quiz on Tuesday; it's due at 11:59 pm on Tuesday.
    • I have another Psychology paper due on the 17th (just turned in the last one on the 4th).
    • Discussion Week 9 opens in History and is due on Friday the 19th.
    • Chapter 9 Quiz in History opens on the 21st, which means another study guide to complete.
    • Also, all next week, I have to work on Assignment 4 in Math which is due by 5pm on the 23rd for the extra bonus points.
    • Chapter 9 Quiz in History is due @ 23:59 on the 23rd.
    • Psychology Exam on Chapters 3 and 5 opens on my birthday, the 24th and closes on the 25th.
    • Discussion Week 10 opens on the 24th in History.
    • I have to respond to the discussion forum in English by 11:55 pm on the 24th.
Ridiculous, huh? It's never-ending! I never feel like I have enough time. When am I supposed to have fun?? Tell me that?! UGH!
    *Stepping off of soap-box now*
I hope everyone had a great weekend and I hope everyone is enjoying this nice weather we've been having lately! It's awesome!
Be sure to link up with Stacy at Stacy Uncorked for Random Tuesday Thoughts. I didn't have a chance yesterday, so I'm just now doing it. Oh well! Not enough time in the day!

    18 September 2012

RTT: For the love of the couch!

This post is gonna mostly be about a couch... More specifically, our first couch. This couch:
Here it is in Elijah's Barrel, next to the ottomon that I later bought.

Still in the Thrift Shop, Elijah's Barrel-March 2009.
We lived in our first apartment in Pell City, AL for 5 months without a couch.
I loved the little thrift shop in downtown Pell City and visited it often,
especially after work. I found our couch for a steal- $250.
Mom came over with the truck and helped us move it the short mile to our apartment.
Here's Jeremy and our precious nephew, Boog (at 9 months old :).

    Bit-Bit...that flash is bright!
Here's the couch on moving day in August 2009.

From there, the couch and the rest of our stuff, went into storage
for almost two years while J was deployed and after while he was looking
for a job. Then we moved to Anniston. Here's Bina snoozing on the couch. :)
Then Tobias joined our family and he loves to lounge on the couch too! Here is with
    his Daddy and Bina.

Later, Boo-Boo joined the family and got to enjoy the couch too!
And then Boopsie came along and snuggled up to the couch
Then we moved to Madison and our living room is huge,
but our couch was the only thing to sit on.
Reba joined our family and she got to enjoy the
couch for a couple of days before we decided she was too
hyper to be on it...but I captured her enjoyment. :)
And Boopsie came to stay with us for 5 days and she enjoyed
    the couch some more.
Now it's time to say goodbye to our lovely couch. :(
We've bought new furniture and even though we want to hold
onto the first piece of furniture we bought together, we don't
    have enough room for it.
Our couch has seen many family moments, held many a babe
and puppy and been the perfect place to hang out or take a nap.
I'm really going to miss it. :(

For more random stuff that doesn't involve my couch, visit Stacy at Stacy Uncorked and link up to Random Tuesday Thoughts! :) Have a great Tuesday!

RTT: Cat crap, Homework, Justin Moore and Freaky Friday

    • Saturday, Jeremy and I went to the Lincoln County Fair in Fayetteville, TN. It was pretty cool except for the sun being in my face the whole afternoon. I rode the Sea Dragon
    •  and Jeremy rode the Free Fall thingy that takes you to the top of a pole and then drops you

Jeremy is second from the right.
    • After Jeremy rode that thing, we got a lemonade, but it wasn't that great. The guy squeezed one lemon into some sugar water. I couldn't even drink it. Jeremy had to. Then I stood in the line for the spinning thingy that Jeremy wanted to ride. It was ridiculously scary-looking. I took a video. Try not to get too dizzy watching it! Jeremy is in the second or third seat from the left. I can't be sure now. Well...psych! I couldn't get the video to load.
    • Afterwards we walked through the fun house...it was really lame. Then we just walked around until it was almost time for the concert. Then we had some corndogs and J had some onion rings. The corndog was great.
    • My phone decided to die just a few minutes into the concert, so I only got a few crappy pics.
You can't see his face in any of the pics I took, but the one pic I took of his equipment truck turned out great.

    • We were freezing and since we had waited over an hour after the concert was supposed to start, we decided to leave only 45 minutes after the concert started. It was sooo cold and we were both wearing shorts and t-shirts. We walked back to the car and went to get something to eat in the town nearby. After we ate, we stopped at the Alabama/Tennessee state line to get lotto tickets. We actually won $100 on one ticket! It was great. It paid for our trip to the fair. How ridiculous are fair prices??
    • So Sunday, I had a really horrible morning. Tobias crapped in the tub even though his litterbox wasn't that dirty. (Good thing I didn't take a picture of that!) And Reba ate an entire bowl of Sabrina's food. So ridiculous since afterwards, I had to walk her like 200 times, all while trying to write an English paper that was due today.
    • Speaking of the paper--I got a B. WTH? My teacher is way too strict with her grading. Apparently I'm too wordy or something. Hmm...
    • Just finished watching one of my favorite movies(Uh-oh, I used a prepositional phrase...that's too wordy!)--Freaky Friday. Not the newer version with Lindsay Lohan, but the older version with Jodie Foster.
That's all the randomness I can muster this week. I have about a bajillion notes to do in math. Head on over to Stacy Uncorked to keep up with the randomness. Keely is never coming back...ever! is still on hiatus and Stacy is still holding down the fort, so to speak. Hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday!

**Random note: The women on "Say YES to the dress" are really snotty and needy! Good grief..

    28 August 2012

RTT: Cat-Interruptus, Online Splurging, Ivy then and now...etc.

    • The most annoying sound on earth is a the sound of a cat grooming itself or a dog licking itself. Disgusting!
    • Does your cat need to be held or "loved on" often? Mine does...especially if I am sitting at my desk doing schoolwork.
    • What special allowances do you make for your pets? I put a blanket on my desk for Toby to lay on so he doesn't try to lay on my books or laptop.
    • If you have a cat, what does it most like to get into? Mine loves to get into the trash and knock it over. He's always looking for Q-tips.
    • I finally got my plant to look like it isn't dying! My Mama helped, but I have kept it alive...so that counts!
    2011                  2012
    •  Do you like to buy things online? I do. I recently purchased a book for my History 201 class online {but accidentally sent it to my Mom's address...} and a necklace from The {Posh} Daisy! Yesterday I ordered 4 books from the Bargain bin on BAM's website and they arrived this afternoon {Wednesday}! Awesome Sauce!
    • Can anyone please tell me why the pictures I add to a blog post always show up under the last picture posted, or they start at the top if they're the first photo? I always have to copy and paste my text above the photo, because it won't let me rearrange the photo by clicking and dragging. It's quite annoying!
    • I had to meet J on the base this morning at 11 so that he could pick me up at the Visitor's Center to get me through the gate. I didn't realize it, but my Military ID expired on the 11th and I was afraid they wouldn't let me on base. Anyway, they wouldn't let me fill out the information or renew my ID without J present. So ridiculous! Anywho, I got it all done and hopefully I won't have so much trouble next time!
Sorry this is late, I've been trying to catch up in my History and English classes and the teachers keep adding more work to do! Ugh! Hope everyone had a great Tuesday!
Head on over to visit Stacy who is still keeping the Randomness alive while Keely has abandoned us for all eternity! is still on sabatical... :)

    RTT: Rhetorical Questions

    • I always think of really awesome random things during the week and I never think to write them down or start my RTT early. How annoying.
    • Why do the makers of baby dolls make the ones with the eyes that close when you lay them down? That is building up little girls' expectations when they're older. Real babies don't close their eyes as soon as you lay them down. Sometimes they scream...
    • Why do dogs always need to go outside right after you bring them in? My dogs are retarded.
    • Why do babies always poop in the clean diaper you just put on them?
    • J's car broke down Sunday when he got off the interstate after work... Why do things always get harder?
    • Why are some professors so difficult? The first day of school {Friday, 17 August}, my History professor didn't even have a mail area on Blackboard and still doesn't. Oh now guess what? We have a quiz on the first chapter, due Friday and I don't even have any books because Financial Aid hasn't paid me yet. What am I going to do?
    • Is it fall yet? I'm ready to decorate.
    • I'm really nervous about my Psychology class and History classes. Neither of the professors put very much information on Blackboard. Especially the History professor. And my English teacher doesn't have any assignments up. I'm already missing my English 101 teacher, even though I was ALWAYS doing an assignment in her class. {of course it was a summer semester, so it was crammed into two months.}
    • Why are all the free books for Kindle the first in a series? I hate getting interested in a series and then having to BUY the second in the series. I know...I'm a cheapskate.
    • J may be going to Colorado for a month. Needless to say...I'm pretty pissed about it. Love that he got this job, sucks that they're sending him away after only working with them for a month.
    • I really hope my check comes in the mail today or tomorrow. This is so frustrating.
    • I'm watching "I'm Having Their Baby" on Oxygen....ridiculous how people can just give away their babies...
    • I had to reduce the amount of books I thought I would be able to read this year. I had to look at it realistically and last year I was only able to read 73 and that was before I even started taking classes. This year, so far, I've read 60, so I set my goal at 75. I think that is much more reachable.
    • I'm pretty sure Reba has Kennel cough, I'm going to take her to the vet if she keeps coughing. She hasn't been doing it as much this week as she was last week. Maybe she's getting over it now.

I'm out of randomness for this week. Be sure to check in with Stacy at Stacy Uncorked for the random link-up! Hope everyone has a great week!

    08 November 2011

    RTT: "Here are your buh-ooks"...

Haven't posted an RTT in awhile. I always come up with the best posts in my head right before bed or while I'm busy doing something else and then by the time Tuesday rolls around, my brain is fried and all I can remember is if when my crops are ready on Farmville.

Watched one of mine and my bestie, Amy's favorite movies the other day. She's the Man. We practically know every line. :P "I gotta lifetime-a knowledge."

The bug man came today to put some peanut-butter-looking-gunk in the cabinets. I haven't seen any bugs in our kitchen other than the ants at the beginning of summer and this is the first time this guy has been around since he sprayed in June. Hmm... Must be because we're fairly clean people. He said he services 1300 apartments every month and he sees some really nasty places. And all I'm thinking is I hope none are hitching a ride on your clothes.

My new niece will be here on Monday! I can't wait! I'm so excited! My sister accuses me of not caring because I never visit with her. But seriously, it's an HOUR away. I HATE driving period and an hour is so tedious. I really do love my nieces and nephews though.

Speaking of my sister; she LOVES Christmas and since she's going to be taking care of a newborn and two toddlers between Thanksgiving and Christmas, she's already put up her Christmas decorations and wrapped the presents she's already bought... Have I gotten any shopping done? No. And I probably won't be able to do much, since no one is hiring and J will be out of work for two weeks during Christmas. He really wants to go see his brothers in Florida over the break and right now, that isn't possible. If we sell my old car, then we will be able to go on Vacay...maybe. I just hope everyone understands that we won't be able to buy much this Christmas. That's not what it's all about anyway. Maybe I'll make 'em something. Anyone want to donate some toilet paper rolls and glue? I'm serious about this...

J is using my car this week since his is out of gas. I took him back to work today after lunch and then went to the library. They called me yesterday to let me know a book I had reserved a month or more ago, was finally in. The Help by Kathryn Stockett! I'm so excited. Right now, though, I'm reading Wanna Get Lucky? by Deborah Coonts. I was contacted via email by a publicity manager for Deborah Coonts. She wanted to recommend the book because I love Janet Evanovich.

So far, I've read 180 something pages and I LOVE it! She's right about it being similar to Janet Evanovich's characters but not too similar. I love how they flow quickly and make you want to keep reading until dawn. Also, I noticed some similarities between characters in this book and Jessica Speart's Rachel Porter series. Where Lucky has an apartment neighbor/best friend who dresses in drag and is straight, Rachel has {in one of the books} a best friend/neighbor who dresses in drag and is gay. Really similar there and in a few other areas Wanna Get Lucky? reminds me of Stephanie Plum {in Janet Evanovich's books} where she has more than one hottie vying for her attention. Can't wait to see what happens next!

I'm tired of fighting for the keyboard with Tobias, so I'm going to go work on a puzzle. Hope everyone has a great Tuesday! :) This time next week, I'll have a new baby niece! :):):)
