So last Wednesday I turned 27 and I thought I would be alone on my b'day until Jeremy got off work. I had originally made plans with my Bestie, Jaybee, but her little boy got sick and she had to cancel.
I woke up Wednesday at the usual time that J gets up to go to work and tried several times to get him up. Finally I told him, "Fine! You're gonna be late for work!" and went back to bed. I couldn't sleep because the sun was coming up and he was snoring and hogging the bed, so I went to the sunroom to sleep on the couch. Not too long after that, J came in there to tell me happy birthday and to bother me. LOL. He told me he had taken the day off to do whatever I wanted to do, which turned into mainly doing what he needed to do. *sigh* We took showers and got dressed to go out for breakfast. After breakfast at Chick-fil-A. {I didn't actually eat the brownie. I got it free through a promotion unlocked through Foursquare. Free brownie with purchase of combo!}
After breakfast, we went to the nail place and I got a mani and pedi.

After we got back to the house and let the girls out one last time, we headed to B'ham to turn in some equipment to J's unit. It took forever to get there and we were there a couple of hours while Gina tried to help J find a replacement Kevlar, 3-piece sleep system, and Gortex poncho. (Anyone have an extra lying around????) He has to turn in all of this stuff because he is going active duty! Agh! I'm so excited and I know he is too.
When we left the unit, we went to Bessemer to the Army/Naval supply store to see if they might have the items he was missing. They had the Kevlar and the sleep system but they wanted to much for the sleep system for which they had taken out one of the pieces and was selling it separately for a much higher price than what it is worth used. The Kevlar was also the wrong size and they wanted too much for it too.
When we left Bessemer, we stopped in Fultondale for some McD's which wasn't that great. We went back by the house and let the girls out again before we headed out to get something to eat for dinner. I can't remember now if we shopped anywhere between the house and eating dinner, but we might have. lol. We ate at Chili's and I'm sad to say that the food wasn't that great (except for the southwestern eggrolls, because they are never bad! Yum!) and J got pissed b/c they didn't have Jack Daniel's for the drink I ordered. I had to order instead, a Malibull *Malibu and Redbull* for which they charged us for an entire can of Redbull but only gave me about 1/3 of a can.At least it was good!
J demanded they bring us the rest of the can and they did, but he poured it out in the parking lot b/c he wasn't sure if they had done something to it since we had complained. People do that you know!
In the parking lot, J let me open my birthday present from him. I didn't know it, but we had been riding around with it in the car all day! He even wrapped it himself! I think he did a pretty good job at it too. He got me a Dr. Shcoll's vibrating/heating seat thingy, but unfortunately, it doesn't fit my chair and it is really uncomfortable to sit on for any amount of time.
When we left Chili's we went to the movie stop store and bought a bunch of movies that we have been wanting. It was really cheap and surprisingly, they have a large selection of current movies!
Then, we realized our movie was about to start and we were already running late! We went to the dollar theater just down the street and watched Ice Age 4. It was really funny and I'm glad we got there in time to see most of it! Plus, it was only $3 for the both of us!

I should be doing my Psychology notes since I have an exam that opens tomorrow and closes Thursday, but I really need a break. I thought I might try to do a little catching up on Facebook, but no one was posting anything exciting so I'm just gonna blog. :)
Finally finished my math assignment today, thanks to my sister.
Finished history study guide and quiz. Made 100%!
Finished English discussion after reading two poems. (supposed to read like 10? Didn't feel like it.)
Saturday J dropped me off at Jo-Ann's Fabrics to do a crafting event with Jaybee and Shelby. We made Fairies (Tinkerbell). Glitter EVERYWHERE!!!
Sunday we went to church and afterwards ate at Cracker Barrel. I love looking around in the store while we wait for our table to be ready. Look at this cute owl I "need!"

Yesterday my Mom, Sister, nephew and two nieces came to see me and spend some time with me for my birthday. :) Super-sweet! They may have wrecked my living room but I love them anyway!
I made a Turkey breast (cooked in the crockpot), candied Yams, green beans and stuffing last night for dinner. It was so yummy! I enjoyed a leftover turkey with cranberry sauce sandwich for lunch today. Mmmm!
I announced yesterday to my sister and Mom that Jeremy is going active duty! Surprisingly, they both seemed to handle it well. I did not expect that, especially after the reaction Jeremy recieved from his parents--namely his Dad.
I am excited that J is going active. I can't wait to see where this new path God has placed before us will lead. :)
Went outside to walk the pups earlier today and smelled gas really strongly. I walked around to the front of the building and J's car was leaking gas. I called him and asked him what to do and he said to look under the hood and find what was leaking and somehow stop it. I did...turns out he had cut the hose and left it hanging...DUH! I just rubber-banded it to the brake fluid container so that it wasn't pulling anymore gasoline out of the tank. I'm a regular Mrs. Fix-it! Haha!

Does your cat need to be held or "loved on" often? Mine does...especially if I am sitting at my desk doing schoolwork.
What special allowances do you make for your pets? I put a blanket on my desk for Toby to lay on so he doesn't try to lay on my books or laptop.

necklace from The {Posh} Daisy! Yesterday I ordered 4 books from the Bargain bin on BAM's website and they arrived this afternoon {Wednesday}! Awesome Sauce!
Can anyone please tell me why the pictures I add to a blog post always show up under the last picture posted, or they start at the top if they're the first photo? I always have to copy and paste my text above the photo, because it won't let me rearrange the photo by clicking and dragging. It's quite annoying!
I had to meet J on the base this morning at 11 so that he could pick me up at the Visitor's Center to get me through the gate. I didn't realize it, but my Military ID expired on the 11th and I was afraid they wouldn't let me on base. Anyway, they wouldn't let me fill out the information or renew my ID without J present. So ridiculous! Anywho, I got it all done and hopefully I won't have so much trouble next time!
Sorry this is late, I've been trying to catch up in my History and English classes and the teachers keep adding more work to do! Ugh! Hope everyone had a great Tuesday! Amanda had a dentist appointment yesterday, so Mama and I watched the kids. Boog helped me clean out the toybox while Mimi put Boo-Boo down for a nap. While we were going through the toys, I found a boat that looked like it blew bubbles. The batteries appeared to be dead, so I set it aside until we finished. When I took it apart and added new batteries, it started whirring, so I asked Mama if she had bubbles. Boog says, "Mimi, do you got any bubbles? Go get some bubbles. We need dem." Mimi did not have any, so I "made" some with dish liquid. While I was standing at the sink mixing the liquid with water, Boog says, "Look Bit-Bit, you do have bubbles! Wots of bubbles!" and he pointed at the sink where the dishes were soaking in soap water. LOL.

Well. Obviously I didn't foresee this little hiccup in plans. Lemme just tell you how this weekend went:
First of all, J had drill this past weekend, so we spent the night Friday with Mama. Then Sat, he went to drill. Tim came home Saturday and we had a barbecue over at Amanda's house. Then Sunday, Mama and I were just chillin' waiting on J to get off work to come pick me up. Then, Barry (Mama's cousin. Nana's sister, Edith's son. got that?) called Mama and said that his Mama couldn't get in touch with Nana. Mama tried to call Nana and couldn't get in touch with her. Then, he went over to her house and banged on the door, but she didn't answer. So, Mama and I got ready and left for Gadsden.
When we got there, we found Nana in the floor at the foot of her bed. Apparently, she was headed to bed Saturday afternoon and left her walker in the hallway and was using the bed rail to walk around, lost balance and fell. She couldn't get up and didn't have the phone with her, so she was laying there all night on her back. She was really sore and weak, so we had her hospice nurse call an ambulance to take her to the hospital. They checked her out and said that everything was fine. She kept complaining about her left leg and hip, so they've been x-raying her for the past three days. She's going to be moving into a rehabilitation center and then into a nursing home. She doesn't want to live anywhere but her own home, but it's time for her to have help.
I was so tired Tuesday, that I didn't feel like posting an RTT. Sorry about that y'all. Not that anyone links up on mine anyway...

I finally finished reading "Under the Dome" by Stephen King yesterday. It only took me 5 days. LOL. 1,072 pages!! It was really good. Not what I expected, but still really good. If you're apprehensive about reading it because of the author, don't be. It wasn't scary at all. Suspenseful, but not scary.
I'm 21 books behind on my goal of 100 books for 2011. Any suggestions on quick-reads? Feel free to recommend me a book on goodreads.com. :)

Oh Friday, sweet Friday! Oh how I love thee! J comes home tomorrow!! I'm so excited! I went shopping for his anniversary present. I tried to find the same wallet I bought him when we got married, but they don't make it anymore. I got him one similar instead. I also got him two balloons; welcome back and a star-shaped balloon with a flag motif. I'm thinking of hanging up the "Welcome Home" flag that I forgot to use when he returned from deployment. What do y'all think??

1. Have you (spouse) ever considered joining the military and what do you think of dual military couples?submitted by Project Army Wife No. I would never make it through basic. I couldn't stand anyone yelling at me. I cry too easily. I have a friend in the Navy who met his wife while he was stationed in Hawaii and they're NEVER together. Somehow it works for them, but I don't think I could handle it. These two weeks without J have been so boring! LOL.

When Daddy was alive, we always had a big BBQ with the whole family and sometimes we went to the lake. And we always, always had fireworks. I don't even remember what we did last year and the year before we just had some BBQ at my sister's and fireworks. I remember J almost shooting his eye out when a cinder block blew up. Men... Every year since Daddy died though, Mama and I have gone to Thunder on the Mountain in Birmingham. Last year, my friend Stephen met up with us with his friend and we had a blast. That was the last time I saw him. :(

Yesterday, when Mama and I got to Nana's house, the nurse was already there. Behind her car was a giant tree branch that had fallen from the neighbor's tree. Miraculously, it missed her car by less than two feet! This is the branch: {Mama and I moved it to the curb.}
Apparently, my Anniversary is Wednesday. Did you know? I didn't. Facebook felt the need to remind me that Jeremy won't be here for our 3rd anniversary.
Oh, and that I should message him. Really? How romantic.
I finished reading the book that Chantal was nice enough to let me win in her giveaway. :) If you haven't heard of Alice Bliss, you need to read it. It's really sad, but it's really a great book.

I bought Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the Wii! Awesome sauce!!
J had bought 007 for the Wii because it came with a gold controller that I needed to play my Zelda game. I tried using it and it was pretty complicated to play with that style, so I tried to take it back. Even though it had only been 4 days, I had the receipt and the game itself wasn't open, GameStop wouldn't take the game and controller back. The guy said that he could give me $5 for the game and $3 for the controller even though they were both brand-new. {And originally the set was $49.99!} How ridiculous is that?? I just kept the game and controller. Stupid GameStop.

I spent the weekend at my sister's and Mama's. I left Friday afternoon and stayed Friday night and Saturday night with Amanda. And Sunday night with Mama.
Saturday: Amanda, Tim, the babies and I went to Old Navy to check out their $2 tank-top deal. {We were, of course, too late for the sale. It was, after all, 3 pm.} A woman almost ran over us while we were walking across the parking lot!
Friday and Saturday night, we played Trivial Pursuit. I love that game! I'm pretty good at it and won once!

Sunday, it was too hot to function, so I just chilled at Mama's house.
Facebook is still reminding me that my anniversary is Wednesday. And Facebook is also trying to tell me that Shakira and Avril Lavigne are related to my post... Um, no they're not.
Mama and I drove to Trussville to have lunch with Miranda yesterday and when we got to where she works, I noticed a "katy-did" on the windshield. It had ridden all the way from Mama's house. When we left to go back to Mama's, the "katy-did" was still on the car. I checked before I left Mama's to make sure it wasn't still on there and I didn't see it. But when I started down the road, it was still there!! It made it all the way home with me!
I steam-cleaned the carpet in the living room Tuesday and trapped Sabrina in the kitchen. She didn't like it too much, so she escaped.
This is the second version of this post since Blogger ate the first. I'm slightly upset, peeved, mad, livid! This post only feels mediocre at best...
J has some pretty exciting news but he won't let me share it yet... *sigh*.
The whole post title has to do with a conversation I had with Amanda yesterday. Apparently Boog had crushed some crackers all over the floor in his room and the ants had found it. She said that the ants were little "scout ants" and they found the crackers and pulled out their little ant cellphones and called in their ant buddies. {Holy run-on sentence Batman!}
I told y'all I would post a pic of our bed after I rearranged the bedroom. I completely forgot about it until now, so here ya go:
Mama and I stopped at Dairy Queen after leaving Nana's yesterday. We had some yummy ice cream in waffle cones. It was very messy!
I sent J a message on Facebook to tell him about our anniversary, but it seems it didn't help. I told you Facebook, there's no romance in a message. Mmmk?
