71° in January...

Only in Alabama is it 34° one day and 71° the next...
I live in such a weird state.
But 71° was the perfect temperature
to take Boog to the park.
Pre-park
On our way to the park

Boog had a BLAST! He was all over that
playground...therefore, we have very few
photos to show how much fun it really was!

His Mommy took the pics of him on the slide
with her Iphone; that's why the quality is so poor.

I'm so thankful that we got to take him to the park.
He really needed to get out some of his pent-up energy.
He was driving us all crazy!*
He was so funny running from one section
of the playground to another. He was so hyper!
There were literally dozens of kids everwhere!
At one point there were 7-9 kids in line to go
down one of the slides!

Boog was on the toddler section of the
playground, about to come down the slide,
when he noticed a grandparent trying to take
photos. He thought she was taking pictures
of him, so he mean-mugged her
and told her something to the effect of:

"NO! Don't do that!"

Amanda and I had to explain to the lady
that he didn't want her taking his picture.**
 (I can't imagine why..we onlytake his picture
every few seconds hours
at home...lol)

She had to hide the camera behind her
back before he would even come down the slide!
And as he was walking past her, he said:

"Stop it!"
LoL. I know he was being rude, but it was
just so funny.

We really enjoyed our freak-of-nature, random
warm weather. I hope y'all had some nice weather
this weekend too!

*Note: We were already crazy...

**Example of Boog not wanting his picture taken
can be found here.**

Six Word Saturday

These sick babies
need warmer weather!

Hopefully, since today is supposed to be 69 degrees
here in good ole 'Bama, we're
gonna take the babies to the park.

Pray that Boog is in a good mood and feels like
playing and that The Princess is feeling
a lot better than she did Friday.
Because seriously, she kept my sister and I
awake until 5-am Friday, crying. She's so
pitiful. I hate that she's having some
kind of sinus problem and on top of it,
she's teething.

Pray for The Princess...and pray for Boog
while you're at it. He keeps telling his sister,
"Be quiet Sissy! You too loud!"

Mil-Spouse Friday Fill-In

I can't believe it's already Friday. It feels like it should still be Monday. But anywho...it's Friday and that means, Mil-Spouse Friday Fill-In, hosted by Wifey @ Wife of a Sailor. Here are this week's questions and my answers:
MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

1. If you were a famous movie star, what types of movies would you star in?
I asked my sister, since I wasn't sure, and she said an old one. Like "Gone With the Wind"...which is NOT one of my favorite movies. I actually didn't like it at all, because the main character was so whiny and spoiled. But I could definitely go for wearing some of those dresses. LOL. I think that Little House on the Prairie is more my style though. Haha.

2. What is a vacation you would like to take if money were no object?
I would love to go to Scotland, Ireland and Italy. And Australia and everywhere else...lol. A trip around the world?

3. Did you have pets growing up?
Yes, we had a cat when I was really young and then we had German Shepherds and Rottweilers. Now my Mama has 2 Chihuahuas...big upgrade.

4. What do you do for exercise?
I don't really...does chasing my 2-year-old nephew count? That's exercise...no really, it is!

5. What is the best piece of advice you've ever received as a MilSpouse?
Wow, there's so much good advice... I guess the best advice was to get involved in the FRG while J was deployed. It really helped a lot to be involved in something and to keep me from worrying so much.

These questions were harder. LOL. Since most of them were things I don't think about often.

To join in the the fun, visit Wife of a Sailor, link up and be sure to read others' posts too! Have a great Friday!

Tatertots and Jello's Marble Valentine Craft

I saw this cute project,
on Jennie Pie's blog. She got the idea from
Tatertots and Jello. It looked like a fairly
easy craft, so I thought I would run out and buy
some frames to make my own...

I had bad luck with it. The frames I picked up at the
Dollar Tree were horribly made.
The first frames
When I took the back off
of the first one, the cardboard was already torn
and the frames weren't what I really wanted. So I took them
back and bought some smaller, but prettier frames.
Unfortunately, I had already finished cutting
my paper and attaching the rocks.
But I fixed it in the end...

Here are the supplies you need:
This was just paper I had that I thought looked Valentine's Day-ish.
1. 4 sheets of scrapbook paper
(I ended up using some scraps, from
a previous project, too.)
2. Glass rocks/marbles.
3. E-6000 glue
First, I took the glass out of the picture frames
and traced around it to cut out my paper
to the right size.
Then I used my rocks to make a pattern
on the paper. I eye-balled it instead of using
something to trace it.
Then I put down my line of glue roughly
in the same spot that I had the rocks.
I waited a few seconds for the glue to
get a little tacky, then I adhered the rocks.

Then, because I had changed the size of
the frames, I had to cut down the paper again.
After you have let your XOXO dry (I let mine dry
overnight just in case). Place them in front of the
glass in your frame. (This will help you keep up
with your glass so you can reuse them after
Valentine's Day.)
This is what I chose to put 2 of my XOs in:
I'm not sure what I will do with the other two.
I couldn't find two more 5x7 frames.

Then I decided to make two small XOs.

I think they
turned out pretty cute!
Also, some of my glass rocks were not round, as you can probably tell. So they were perfect for the X's. (I accidentally bought them. lol)

Here is the finished arrangement:

I really like it. :P
Hopefully next year we can have our own place
and I can put out this arrangement plus all
the other cute crafts I plan to make for
Valentine's Day! :)

*I hope J doesn't see that I posted that picture of him
on the beach...lol. I love it though. It's one of my
favorite pictures of him.*

Hooo Are You?

NightOwlCrafting

"Hoo are You" is hosted by Leslie at Night Owl Crafting, whom I
stumbled upon through another blog I follow, Cammo Style Love.
This looks like a fun meme that I will try my best to
keep up with. :)

1. Do you wear glasses or contacts, if so for how long?
Yes, I've had glasses since I was 8. I wear them
most of the time, but sometimes I wear contacts.
2. What was your favorite board game as a kid?
It's a toss up between Sorry and Thirteen Dead End Drive.
3. What is a word that you use all the time?
A word my Mama came up with actually, "inorite"...
It's the short way to write "I know, right?". LOL.
4. What is your favorite day of the week?
Sunday
5. Did you graduate high school from the town you grew up in?
Yep. I went K-12 at the same school. I feel blessed that
I never had to be the new kid at school. I always
tried to make the new kids feel welcome too.

Like I said before, this looks like a really cute meme
to participate in each week. So, if you think so too,
follow the link over to Night Owl Crafting!

Random Tuesday Thoughts: Being Human...

is hard! LOL. J/K.
Random Tuesday Thoughts is brought to you by Keely at The Un Mom.

Being Human is my new favorite TV show! I've only seen two episodes so far, but one of the main characters, Aidan is so hot, I know I'm going to keep on loving this show!
Meaghan Rath as "Sally"
Sam Witwer as "Aidan"
Sam Huntington as "Josh"
This is the first tv show that I've gotten addicted to in a long time. I usually forget about a show, or don't have time to watch it. Hopefully, I'll be able to keep up with this show and not have to Netflix it later to catch up...like I am now doing with L&O:SVU.

                  ******************************

Remember how I told you J loves the movie, Mean Girls? And that I was sure he would be looking forward to the sequel? I was right...
Sunday, apparently, it came on ABC Family or something. I had been out all day with my sister and the babies. I called J and asked if he wanted to come over to her house since her hubby was about to get off work. He sounded reluctant to come, but agreed that he would be over in just a moment. Yesterday, I find out why he was reluctant to come over... Mean Girls 2 was on. LOL. Bless his heart. He got sucked in. Because, this time, Lindsey Lohan is not in it. In fact, none of the original characters are in it. I read about it here.

                                       *********************************************
And yes, yes that is the same Sam Huntington that played alongside Tim Allen in Jungle 2 Jungle as Mimi-Siku...

You are welcome for that piece of flashback knowledge...

Hope everyone has a wonderful and random Tuesday! Don't forget to check out The Un Mom; link up and join in on the fun!

Must Be Monday

A good way to know it's Monday:

Everything goes wrong...
Or in my case, I've had the worst migraine all day long.
It's absolutely horrible. I can't move without feeling
like my right eyeball is going to explode.
I was supposed to go to my Nana's with my Mama,
but I couldn't get out of bed this morning.
As soon as the sun started coming up,
my head started pounding even worse.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Six Word Saturday

We need our own home now!

I really appreciate my Mom,
but it's very frustrating not having
our own place.
There's nowhere to get away
to be alone.
There's not very much privacy
and...
we can't walk around in our underwear.

Six word Saturday is brought
to you by Cate
You should really join in. It's awesome... and so is she.

Squirrel Appreciation Day

I know this is really random, but
I love squirrels...lol.
I don't know why. I always have.
In most Native-American tribes,
animals represent a spirit or zodiac symbol.
The squirrel is to remind us to be a little
less serious.
Other symbolisms of the squirrel:
  • Play
  • Prudence
  • Balance
  • Socializing
  • Preparation
  • Resourcefulness
  • Energy
You can read more about animal symbolism here.
When I was really young, we went to Gatlinburg
and a shop-keeper told us about animal totems
and how they protect you and what they symbolize.
I was immediately drawn to the Kokopelli.
(Which symbolizes music and fertility)
The shopkeeper told me to stay away from it. LOL.

But another symbol that really attracted me was
the squirrel. I bought a pocket "worry stone"
with the squirrel on it. I still have it.

A short note to squirrels:

Dear little squirrel:
I appreciate you. You are cute, with your bushy tail and twitching nose. I love how quickly you scamper in a bounding, graceful way. I love you little squirrel!
                                      Love,
                                        your faithful admirer

Oh I know, I'm weird. LOL. Oh well.

Mil-Spouse Friday Fill-In #27

Friday already? Thank the Lord. I love weekends. Mil-Spouse Friday is brought to you by Wife of a Sailor. To participate, just follow the link to her blog and then use "Mr. Linky" to link up and join in on the fun! :)

  1. What do you usually want to know about someone when meeting them for the first time?  Their name, if they're married, have kids, where they are from, where they live...you know, stalker-esque questions.
  2. Would you rather know everything about your spouse, or be regularly surprised? I like knowing all the important things. Often I am still surprised to find out something new. It doesn't bother me necessarily, but it's sometimes frustrating to find out he doesn't like black-eyed peas after I've already cooked dinner. :P
  3. If you could live in one city for the rest of your life, where would you live? Maggie Valley, NC...although it's more of a town than a city.
  4. When you go out of town, what one material thing do you ALWAYS take? My cellphone. I don't want to ever be stranded without a way to get in touch with help. I also take my GPS and a map, JIC.
  5. Using no more than 10 nouns, and ONLY nouns, describe yourself.

Wii-mote Control Condoms*

I'm so excited about these that I had to
give them their very own blog post.

Our new Wii-mote and Nunchuk condoms*.
Awesome huh? Jeremy and I stopped by the Goodwill
yesterday after we got my license renewed.
(It expired on December 31st.)
Jeremy was looking to buy Mom a new pot.
(he burnt hers the other day when he was
making cocktail weenies in BBQ sauce)
I don't know why he was even looking where the
Wii stuff was, but he found these Wii-mote control
covers and asked if I liked them.
Of course! So we bought them.
They were only three bucks for each set!

Jeremy also bought a pair of Ralph
Lauren Polo jeans for $5.
I can't believe he bought them, but
whatever. They looked pretty good on him. :)

I found these beauties:
I've already read the first two, but it can't
hurt to own them and re-read them. :) Plus,
they were only fifty-cents apiece. I also bought
one other book, Bungalow 2- by Danielle Steele, for
my sister-in-law to read.

I love thrift stores. I plan on going to the
antique mall tomorrow. I'll let you know what
treasures I find there. :)

*Note: This is what my brother-in-law calls the
Wii-mote control covers--condoms. lol.
Since it protects them.

P.S. It's snowing again...

I'm with the band:Random Tuesday Thoughts

It's that time again...Random Tuesday Thoughts, brought to you by
Keely at The Un Mom.

This is my band...oh you didn't know I had a band?
It's my pretend band. LOL. A friend posted on
Facebook a series of steps to find your
band. Hers was really interesting:
To me it makes no sense whatsoever...
Mine just happened to fit together somewhat.
If you want to find out the name of your band,
follow these steps:
1 - Go to wikipedia and hit random. The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.
2 - Go to quotationspage.com and hit random. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.
3 - Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”. Third picture no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
4 - Use picnik.com to put it all together.
5 - Post it with this text in the "caption" and TAG the friends you want to join in. (If you're posting on Facebook.)

The only real band I've ever been in was in the 7th
grade when my friends and I sang in the gym
during second period. We called ourselves The Gym Flowers.
We were so freakin' dorky. And I can't even
remember who, besides Billy, was in our "band".
We practiced every chance we got, until
we got bored with it. LOL.

That's all the randomness that I have for this Random
Tuesday Thoughts. Hope y'all are having a great
Tuesday! For more randomness, visit Keely

Goodbye Myspace

After 9013 photos, a couple hundred different
layout changes, and 6+ years as a member,
I'm going to delete my Myspace profile.
No one ever gets on there and I haven't uploaded new pics
in forever. So, what's the point?
I've been on there for the past two days,
moving pics that I didn't save to my computer, to my passport.
I can't believe how many photos I've uploaded
over the years. It's ridiculous!

I also copied a few of my blog posts and am probably
going to post them on here at some point or another.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend.

Six Word Saturday

I gotta change my zodiac sign?

According to MSNBC, if you're checking out your horoscope,
you might want to recheck the dates. You could be looking at
someone else's horoscope!

"Astrological signs are determined by the position of the sun relative to certain constellations on a person's day of birth. The problem is, the positions were determined more than 2,000 years ago. Nowadays, the stars have shifted in the night sky so much that horoscope signs are nearly a month off."

I don't wanna be a Virgo. *pouty face*
If you read about Virgo, it doesn't describe my
personality at all. I'm definitely a Scorpio
Apparently because the earth's axis has shifted, so
has our view of the stars. Therefore, our astrological signs
change too. It's really a bunch of mumbo jumbo, I'm sure.
At least I hope I'm sure...*sigh*.

Is everything in your life going the way it should? Can you describe it in six words? Then head on over to visit Cate at

Be sure to link up and follow others back each Saturday!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Mil-Spouse Friday Fill-In #26

I love mil-spouse friday fill-ins. I've missed them for the past three weeks. I'm glad we're back into the swing of things. :) Here are this week's questions:

1.What are you looking forward to most in 2011? from Jessica Lynn Writes

I'm most looking forward to getting our own place. I'm really missing having our own space.

2.What is something random you do on a boring night when your significant other is away? from Lovin Ma Soldier

I play Epic Mickey or Mario Galaxy 2 on the Wii, since they are both one-player games. Or I read.

3.What has been your greatest adventure as a MilSpouse? from Misadventures of An Army Momma

Just surviving a year-long deployment was an adventure in and of itself. Not to mention getting to know so many new people at once.

4.What is the ugliest fashion trend you ever bought into (I'd like to make fun of you, so can you please provide a picture as well)? from More Than An Army Wife

There aren't that many...tying the corner of my shirt into a knot was pretty ridiculous. Other than that, I'm not really trendy. LOL. I'm a hippy. My Mama says I should've been born 20 years earlier than 1985, because I could've been part of the Woodstock movement. LOL.

Here's a pic of me in one of my hippy outfits.
Me, in the front, trying to cover my legs...lol.
Blue-jean vest, flowered sun-dress and huge scrunchy...

5.What was the high point of last month?
I'd have to say the high point was Christmas and J's sister having her baby boy. :)

For more Mil-spouse answers, head on over to Wife of a Sailor to link up and participate. :)

Hope everyone has a great Friday! :)

I know right?: Random Tuesday Thoughts

It's Tuesday again...let's get Random with Keely at The Un-Mom.

A few days ago this conversation took place:

Scene: The Hubby is watching Mean Girls, I'm on Facebook on the laptop.

Regina George says Boo you {ho}*..

Me: Amy used to say that to me all the time. lol. Boo you {ho}*...it's funny.

J: it's stupid.

Me: No its not, it's funny. You're the one watching Mean Girls!

J: I just think it's funny how mean they can be to each other.

Me: nuh-uh...you're in love with Lindsey Lo-{ho}*.

J: No I'm not.

ME: Yes you are. You love her.

J: Nuh-uh. She's just my crack hook-up.

Sometime later after the movie is over...

J: Hopefully the second one will be just as funny as the first...

(You know he's looking forward to seeing Mean Girls 3....lol)

That's just about as random as I can get this week. J has been sick and now I've got it too. We got lots of snow and ice Monday, down here in Sweet Home Alabama. So we got out and played in it Monday and I got even more sick. Therefore, the only major posts I'm doing this week (or until I feel better) are on my other blog, Capture the Moments. Feel free to check it out. :)

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Note: {ho}* has been changed to protect the innocent. :P

Give 'em hell, give 'em hell.
...Stand up and yell, Hey! War...Eagle, win for Auburn,
Power of Dixie LAND!"

That was so nerve-racking! I'm so glad Auburn won! They really deserved it! :)
Thank you Wes Byrum for scoring the winning field goal!
**Note: First two photos found here.**

Waaar Eagle Hey!

Just thought I'd say War Eagle and let everyone know who is gonna win! Hope everyone in Alabama that got snow, got to enjoy it today. We sure did. I'm still freezing and we came in over 3 hours ago!! War Eagle!!!
